from humble beginnings in
Shannon, Ireland 1977 manufacturing quality spare parts for
the underground drilling industry. In the 80s Mincon began
rebuilding underground Jumbo
Drill Machines and manufacturing quality Rockdrills.

The Mincon 3000 is an economic accessory for drilling with the ability to
increase tooling life and reduced equipment downtime. The Mincon 3000 is
utilized in both slanted and vertical drilling operations to reduce vibration and
wear of the drill string and drill rig components. The sliding spindle of the cushion
sub permits the threads of the mating drill string components to float together or
apart during rotation without any axial movement of the rotary drive. This
decreases the impact on the rotary drive when the two mating threads are joined
and decreases the load on the threads of the mating components.

Damage to bearings and gear box components.

Early thread failure due to stabbing the mating components together.
Cross Threading of mating parts.
Thread galling due to heavy loads applied to flanks of the threads when
lowering or raising the rotary head.
