NURSING CONSIDERATION

Promote fluid intake

drug therapy for
constipation; older adults
often self-limit liquids.

water loss and
potential
hypernatremia.

Do not take any laxative


medications while using
this drug.

If with diabetes, monitor


blood glucose regularly.
