Proposing a Topic
Subject: Health and Fitness
Topic: Body image and Fitness
Preliminary thesis statement: Awareness campaigns should educate women
about being healthy so women would have faith that real beauty is found on
the inside, create a balance between feminism and body image, and
formulate their own healthy fitness strategy.
Proposal: Over time and with the explosion of media phenomenon women
grew more and more concerned about their body image. This emergence of
media has shed light on the importance of womens body image package
which consists of: beauty, feminism, and fitness. These constituents have
evolved from standards to requirements in the media-driven society which
had negative impacts on most womens health and in turn reflected
negatively on their self-perception and self-esteem, attitude, and
appearance. Nowadays, statistics show that women suffering from eating

disorders and those who are undergoing plastic surgeries are in a continuous
increase. Then I believe that one of the most important solutions to resolve
this issue is that awareness campaigns should educate women of all ages
about being healthy so women would have faith that real beauty is found on
the inside, create a balance between feminism and body image, and
formulate their own healthy fitness strategy. Based on up-to-date articles,
the media-driven society has proved that media had devastating effects on
womens lives. Thus awareness is to be raised immediately to decrease the
effects of media on society, since it is evolving continuously worldwide,
before it is too late.
