Robotics
&
Industrial
Applications
Robotics is an interdisciplinary branch of technology that deals with design, construction, control and operation of a robot. A simple robot is a machine that is
embedded with a sensor, a processor and an end effectors whose application may vary depending upon its connected sensors, end effectors and information
processing.

The robot has a temperature/light sensor as its sensing element for fire and a water sprayer and motors as its end effectors. The robot is capable of detecting
the event of fire, trace the exact location of fire and spraying the water to the detected location. The control commands to the end effectors based on the

The surveillance robot can be used for both commercial and defense purposes. The robot consists of an onboard wireless camera that can stream sequence of
images through zigbee protocol. The actuators of the robot can be remotely controlled by establishing Bluetooth connection between the processor and the

Software
Research
Development
Software development is an important activity. In order to harness the skills of Computer Science, Information Technoly and MCA students in software develop
two batch of students were selected for training. Initially the students were given training in software engineering, .net, SPM etc., subjects. The students were
asked to develop the projects on Automatic Attendance system which has got many implications. Students with background in ECE were asked to
develop
develop scanners and others with background in computer science were asked to develop data base applications on the data collected. The students of these
two batches have successfully completed these in-house projects. These projects were also part and parcel of their B.Tech dissertations.

Vision
Machine Vision is the technology that uses images as its source of information and act as an intelligent identifier/locater in various Industrial and Robotics
applications.

attendance:
This system is developed to overcome the drawbacks in the conventional attendance marking system. The system extracts the detected faces in an input image
and compares with the images in the database. Based on the comparison the corresponding faces are recognized and the attendance is automatically marked
to the respective faces, hence ensuring a foolproof, robust attendance marking system.

SAE
BAHA
SAE INDIA conducts this competition every year. Students across the country from various institutes and universities represent their team. The primary
objective is to design and fabricate an ATV. The event (BAJA) comprises of dynamic events such as acceleration test, deceleration test, hill climb,
maneuverability and a four hour endurance race where the vehicle is subjected to these events which tests the students design perceptive.
Before entering the competition we have preliminary round where teams from different colleges are supposed to present their respective design reports. More
than 400 teams have participated for the SAE INDIA BAJA virtual preliminary round and out of which 120 teams have been selected for the main event and we
are one among. The event helps the students to arcane subject relating the field, works on real time problems and helps them to be pragmatic. In this project
students learn and gain experience in designing, machining, fabricating and financing and real time reliable vehicle and also communicating with vendors,
suppliers and sponsors. Members in the team face high pressure scenarios during working hours where they have to complete their part in the time specified
and always putting budget in mind. Besides the technical skills the project also tests the disciplinary actions among the members, team work, team strategies,
ethics and project management are considered as a prominent role. This project gains a valuable experience to the members. The team comprises of various
ages and majors. SAE India Baja gives us exposure to various automotive items. Students work hard and give commitment to the team including weekends and
late night hours. Students join SAE India Baja because of their zeal and motivation to see their design from a virtual display to a real time functional model. This

Geomatics
Indian Geo spatial Market is on the verge of a humongous growth. Most Indian firms in GIS are involved in the data collection, data capture and data conversion
scenario. The government is the biggest consumer of GIS applications and uses it actively. India, with its diverse landscapes a perfect fit for a technology like
GIS. This is largely attained due to government focus on use of GIS and large initiatives like R-APDRP and NLRMP but this is just the start. It is also estimated
that private players in infrastructure, telecom and other utilities are spending around Rs 50crore annually on GIS products and services.

Several hundreds of industries are doing outsourcing jobs in the applications of Map generation, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, insurance companies etc.,
The industries prefer trained candidates in the field of GIS instead of recruit and train. The placement opportunities are expected to be improved those who
possess
GIS
skills.
GNITC believe in providing necessary infrastructure to its students and train them industry preferred software applications to improve their job opportunities.

Mobile
Computing
Mobile application is the latest technological trend among the fresh breed of young Engineers. Mobile Application Development Centre was started with the
object of promoting specialized knowledge in the field of mobile technology, and developing various educational applications. Mobile application development is
similar to Web application development and has its roots in more traditional software development. One critical difference, however, is that mobile applications
(apps) are often written specifically to take advantage of the unique features a particular mobile device offers. For instance, a gaming app might be written to
take advantage of the iPhone's accelerometer. One way to ensure that applications show optimum performance on a given device is to develop the application
(app) natively on that device. This means that at a very low level, the code is written specifically for the processor in a particular device. When an app needs to
run on multiple operating systems, however, there is little -- if any -- code that can be reused from the initial development. The application must essentially be
rewritten for each specific device.
