POSITION
DESCRIPTION
Financial
Analyst
FLSA
Status:
Exempt
SUMMARY
DESCRIPTION
The
Financial
Analyst
is
responsible
for
producing
the
financial
reporting
packages.
This
position
is
responsible
for
financial
forecasting
and
projection
models.
He/She
oversees
the
budgeting
process
and
performs
financial
analysis
for
the
organization.
This
position
is
also
required
to
provide
general
support
to
the
accounting
group.
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyzes
financial
data
and
consistently
present
financial
reports
in
an
accurate
and
timely
manner
Prepares,
reviews
and
distributes
monthly,
quarterly
and
annual
financial
reports
to
all
appropriate
stakeholders,
working
closely
with
Director,
Finance
and
other
accounting
staff
Tracks
expenses
and
revenues
against
budget
while
conservatively
reforecasting
and
analyzing
fluctuations
and
variances;
Identifies
trends
and
recommend
actions
utilizing
financial
analysis
techniques
and
concepts
Prepares
monthly
consolidation
and
executive
financial
package
for
the
approval
of
Director,
Finance
to
be
provided
to
Chief
Financial
Officer
Assists
in
the
preparation
of
the
annual
financial
information
materials
to
be
provided
to
the
external
auditors
Ensures
that
the
Director,
Finance
is
consistently
updated
and
advised
about
all
pending
financial
and
accounting
issues
and
trends
Assists
in
the
annual
budgeting
and
planning
process
and
assist
program
managers
in
defining
their
budgets;
Maintains
budget
and
reforecast
information
in
the
accounting
system
Identifies
economic
and
financial
developments
that
may
affect
the
organizations
financial
health
Develops,
maintains
and
distributes
ad-hoc
reports
and
financial
models,
as
requested
Supports
and
performs
accounting
functions,
as
requested
Other
duties
as
assigned.
EXPERIENCE
&
SKILLS
REQUIRED
Sophisticated
understanding
of
appropriate
GAAP
standards
and
regulatory
requirements
with
a
hands-on
experience
in
fundamental
accounting
and
finance
principles
At
least
4
years
of
financial
planning
and
analysis,
procedural
controls
and
data
validation
techniques
required;
Financial
modeling
is
a
plus
Proficient
in
the
use
of
Microsoft
Office
Suite,
specifically
Excel,
Word
and
PowerPoint,
with
advanced
skills
in
Microsoft
Excel
to
include
use
of
macros,
charts
and
graphs.
Experience
utilizing
industry
standard
accounting
software
such
as
Great
Plains,
Peachtree,
QuickBooks
and/or
Solomon
required
Strong
analytical,
organization,
and
problem
solving
skills
which
allow
for
strategic
data
interpretation
versus
simple
reporting
with
a
strong
attention
to
detail
Prior
experience
utilizing
industry
recognized
accounting
research
tools
Strong
interpersonal
and
communication
skills
with
the
ability
to
effectively
communicating
key
financial
data
Ability
and
desire
to
translate
complex
financial
concepts
to
individuals
at
all
levels
including
finance
and
non-finance
managers
Solid
organizational
skills
especially
demonstrated
ability
to
meet
project
deadlines
with
a
focus
on
details
Professional
and
mature
presence
and
ability
to
interact
effectively
with
people
at
all
organizational
levels
of
the
company
with
a
high
level
of
discretion
Solid
experience
in
budget
development
and
analysis,
accounts
payable
and
receivable,
and
general
ledger
Capable
of
working
in
a
demanding,
deadline-driven
environment
while
handling
multiple
projects
simultaneously
EDUCATION
&
CERTIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
Bachelors
degree
in
Accounting,
Finance
or
relevant
field
or
equivalent
experience
required;
MBA
or
other
relevant
advanced
degree
(Masters
in
Accountancy)
strongly
preferred.
CPA
Certification
or
CPA
Candidate
preferred.

Fast

professional
office

moderate
noise
levels
Must
be
able
to
use
a
computer
at
a
work
station
for
long
periods
of
time
and
to
