Work Experience

Company: URS Scott Wilson India Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore

Designation: Asst. Highway Engineer.
Period: 25/11/10-Till Now.
Responsibilities: Economic Analysis using HDM-4 , Traffic Analysis (AADT, O-D),
Design of Pavement, Axle Load Survey Analysis and BBD Analysis, Quantity estimation.

Responsibilities:
Road Inventory & Condition Survey: Involved in preparation of report and site visit for road
inventory and Condition Survey of National Highways and State Highways. The survey
includes assessment of pavement condition by visual observation of pavement distresses like, cracking,
raveling, edge break, etc.

Benkelman Beam Deflection Survey: Involved in preparation of report, Overlay design and site visit for
BBD study. The deflection studies were carried as per IRC: 81, for selected good pavement stretches. The data
obtained was analyzed to determine the structural strength of the existing pavement and determine the overlay
design to cope up with the projected traffic.
Axle load Survey: Involved in site survey, VDF analysis and preparation of axle load report. The studies
started with weighing of each wheel using portable weigh pad. During survey noted heavy vehicles carrying
construction materials, goods, empty vehicles, etc. The VDF calculated for each vehicle using IRC: 37, 2011.
Traffic Studies: Involved in various traffic studies for NH and SH. The survey includes 7-Day
TVC, Origin & Destination Survey, Speed & Delay and Pedestrian Survey.
Pavement Design: Pavement design for both flexible and rigid pavement using IRC: 37, 2001
and IRC: 58, 2002.
HDM-4: Involved in data collection, Economic and Programme analysis of Karnataka State
Highway Network Improvement Strategy-ADBTA. The procedure includes, preparation of database both
network and vehicle fleet. Import the data base to HDM-4 software and calibrating the model to suit the
present road conditions. Running the model in various steps i.e. project, strategy and programme analysis.
The total length considered for analysis is 20,390Km. The roads have been prioritized based on budget
availability for Karnataka state for maintenance and Improvement of roads. Also involved in the preparation
of final report of Core Road Network for submission of ADB.
MX-Road: I know importing the survey data to MX- road, horizontal alignment design, create carriageway
edges/ paved shoulders/ earthen shoulders, vertical alignment design, apply super-elevation, generating plan
profile drawings using MX- road

Madhya Pradesh.

Four laning of Dewas-Shivapuri-Gwalior Section of NH-3 from Km 15.600 to Km 566.450 in the

State of Madhya Pradesh.

Four/Six laning of Ahmedabad Udaipur Kishangharh section of NH-8, NH76 & NH-79 from
(Approx. Length 555.500) in the State of Gujarat & Rajasthan.

Re-Engineering Surveys for Four- Laning of Hoskote-Mulbagal section of NH-4 from 237.000 to Km
324.000 in the State of Karnataka.

Involved in flexible and rigid pavement design of 6-Laning of Agra-Etawah and Etawah-Chakkeri
