Purpose
These guidelines will serve the requirements to be met for provision & effective utilization of
eating and rest room for employees.

Project work sites, temporary facilities of HYUNDAI and Sub Contractors.

Responsibility
HDEC Project Management and Sub Contractor are responsible for assuring that these
facilities are maintained in an orderly and sanitary condition at all times.
Employees are responsible to maintain the rest room, eating and wash/toilet facilities in good
and clean condition.
6.
Requirements
Eating facilities
Eating facilities are to be located in areas which will allow the employees to eat without direct
exposure to work activities. The eating facility will be provided with required seating and table
arrangement in a shaded shed built to withstand poor weather conditions.
Food wastes will be removed daily and good housekeeping maintained always.
Washing facilities
Washing facilities with ordinary soap and water will be provided at all temporary facilities
including satellite lay down facility.
Drinking water
An adequate supply of drinking water will be made available at all times in the working areas.
The water will be tested periodically to ensure employees have safe drinking water.
20 Litres (5 Gallons) igloo bottles, tightly closed and sealed drinking water shall be served for
the employees. No employee will be allowed to take water by opening the lid and shall not be
used for any other purpose.

Toilet facilities
Toilet facilities with required number will be provided and kept clean, maintained in good working
conditions.
It will be ensured that toilet facilities used by employees are cleaned and serviced on a
scheduled basis that will prevent the facilities from becoming unsanitary and unusable.
Each portable toilet facility shall include both a toilet seat and a urinal.
Toilets shall be provided for employees according to the following table:

Toilet facilities that have become inoperable due to water supply, plumbing problems, or full and
cannot be used in a sanitary manner shall be attended immediately.

The following subjects shall be discussed while conducting the Safety Training on Use of Eating and
Sanitation.

Discuss the purpose of Safety Training on utilisation of Eating places and Sanitation.
It shall be explained about the facilities provided for eating and sanitation.
Stress will be made to maintain good house keeping and maintenance of toilets in hygenic
condition.
