Dr.

Hayes Wicker, Senior Pastor

The Naples Christmas Spectacular
It seems that Thanksgiving is barely over, so we now
hear the song, Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
It is around this time of year that Janet and I put up our
Christmas decorations, but the truths of Christmas trump
the trappings of Christmas. Lets not get trapped in the
trappings, but invite our friends and neighbors to hear the
gospel of Jesus Christ uniquely presented in the Naples
Christmas Spectacular, under the leadership of Dr. Todd
Stearns.
After 32 years, this is the first year without the Living Christmas Trees. The
two large Trees are not the primary focus. With new technology and creative
lighting, we have a clean slate to attempt fresh approaches. Led by a 25-plus
piece orchestra and 120 voice adult choir, the beautiful music of the season will
also include our children and student choirs. We have assembled a fine drama
team that will also highlight the meaning of Christmas with their play, Casting
Call. It is a play within a play, featuring five would-be actors auditioning for the
roles of the angel, Herod, a Magi, Joseph, and Mary in a churchs live Nativity
Scene. I have read the script and heard a rehearsal; you will laugh, but also be
moved as we remember the real reason for the season and identify with some
interesting characters.
Please purchase your tickets as soon as possible and invite people to the
production. They will probably attend this kind of presentation more easily than
a worship service. They will not be disappointed in the spirit or talent as the truth
is proclaimed. The most spectacular thing that could ever happen would be the
miracle of new birth as Christ is born in the hearts of people (Galatians 4:19)
when I relate the script to scripture and His salvation.
Be praying for all of our cast and the many others who volunteer in dozens
of supporting roles, such as media, ushering, parking, make-up, food service,
choreography, etc. Lets be like the shepherds who spread the good news, and
made known the saying about Christ throughout the town of Bethlehem (Luke
2:17, 18).
*There is a guest reception in the Commons following the Saturday night and
Sunday morning 11:00am worship services. Pastor would love to meet you!

Bibles for Inmates

Through our FBCN jail ministry, many inmates have come to

know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. It is our desire to
put a copy of Gods Word into the hands of every inmate. We
have identified a jail-approved Bible, Free on the Inside, which
was developed in conjunction with Prison Fellowship. Would
you be willing to donate one or more copies of Gods Word?
You can do this by simply going to the FBCN Lighthouse
Bookstore and paying for as many copies as you would like to
donate ($6.29 each). The Bibles will be kept in the bookstore,
and jail ministry volunteers will pick them up and take them to
the jail.
