Client Profile
A leading national provider of intelligent software and service solutions that empower legal
professionals to more effectively manage dynamic information, speed up workflows and
make critical decisions. Its customers include over 90% of the Fortune 500 companies and
top U.S. law firms. They have more than 1,500 employees in multiple locations nationwide.
Problem
The custom internal system was last implemented over a decade ago using client server
technology that, while state of the art at the time of implementation, had become outdated
with the wide adoption of the internet and needed to be updated. In addition to this, many
of the specific business rules embedded in the system were not documented completely
anywhere outside of the system and therefore needed to be reconstructed and updated to
reflect current and future business goals.
Solution
The Digital Groups engineers designed and implemented a web based application to
replace the existing legacy system. This project involved a full life-cycle development
effort, from requirements through to deployment. Some of the specific tasks included:

Utilize the clients existing framework to develop the application which will help in easier
maintenance and lesser costs
Provide rich documentation and user manuals for the usage and maintenance of the
new system.
The team provided by The Digital Group included resources divided across three
separate locations:
Offshore (Pune, India),
Offsite (Princeton NJ, US),
By utilizing resources at all three locations, the client was able to achieve the maximum
value for each type of resource employed. The Digital Group managed the coordination
of the resources at these remote sites thereby freeing the client from the need to supervise
this complicated process. The Digital Group also provided Quality Assurance services for
web applications, during the QA phase. After 2 years of continuous efforts and hard work,
the project went live.

With the implementation of the new system, the client was able to see an immediate benefit in
terms of both, the users of the system as well as the IT operations team.
