INTRODUCTION
Do you know how many people die in traffic accident's every
year in sultanate of Oman? The answer is very high it's about
1500 person in year. The death in the road like the war in
IRAQ and AGHANISTAN. The number is very high than other
countries. Many families lose their sons or someone in the
family and this can causes many social problems. Also many
families disappear by this accident. Most of these accidents
are avoidable and have many main causes. There are many
causes and effect of road accident and in this essay I am
.going to write about the most important ones
Looking first at the causes, there are three main causes,
Driver's carelessness, External factor and Mechanical problem
with the car.

The first main causes of traffic accident's is driver's

carelessness and this takes many forms ,One of these is high
speed :Many people ,especially young men , drive faster than
the limit , they make the road like the road far formula
one .Without thinking of the consequences .Moreover now a
day there is a new problem :The mobile phone ,some people
use the phone while they driving and this distracts their
attention. In addition many accidents are result of bad habit
in the drivers; they drive when they are tired and maybe fail
a sleep. Also drinking alcohol effect the mind of some driver
and this can lead to accidents and some of that also smoking
while driving.

The second main cause is external factor, which means

problem not related to the driver or the car. For example in
some places there are dangerous road in a bad condition it's
like a wadi road the drive get surprise when he drive in such
this road. Also the road can be with out shoulders and the
road's is very short. Moreover the roads can be without
symbols, lines and light's .Also, sometimes we have sudden
wet weather and in Oman often there is no drainage, so the
car may skid and crash. Another problem can be animals in
the road: they wander into the road and, especially at night,
the driver dose not sees them until it too late.
The Third main cause is Mechanical problem with the car.
There are fewer mechanical problems nowadays than in the
past and this in not a frequent cause of accidents. However,
such accidents do occur and they can be very dangerous.
Many driver doesn't check them cars and not do the serves in
short time and also the cars can be very old , and the parts
are not good in the cars even the cars make a sound or has
some thing blemish that the driver know about it. Also
Vehicle skid can be defined as the loss of traction
between a vehicle’s tyres and the road surface due to the
forces acting on the vehicle. Most skids are caused by
driver error, although only about 15% of accidents are the
direct result of a vehicle skidding. Skids occurring in
other accidents are usually the result of last minute
action, by the driver, when faced with a crisis ahead
rather than actually causing an accident. Skids can occur
both in the dry and wet as well as icy conditions. For
example, a tyre can explosion at high speed and cause the
driver to loss control of the car, or the brakes of the car fail.

Turning now to the effects, there are three main outcomes:

Roar General Money, damage private possessions and the
public property and harm the human body.
The first main consequence is Roar General Money. The
common situation here is losing money that we use it to buy
the car when the car have accident and also when we
repairing or the insurance company fix the car .So the money
From other side 30% of the accident's car well cancel and now
the driver have to buy anther one .

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, as we have seen. There are many causes of
accidents; some of them are the driver fault, some of fault of
the road and some of the fault of the car. No matter what is
the fault , all accident can have serious cause guencenes and
can be avoided therefore we must work together to reduce
the number of accident , such as by driving safely following
the rules of the road and having your car serviced regularly.

Driving has become more and more dangerous with the ever
increasing population of man and vehicles. It is estimated
that 25% of all accidents are caused by driver distractions.
Automotive technology is being developed everyday to make
our lives on the roads much safer. Compliance with traffic
rules is the essence of responsibility to protect the
achievements of the nation such as human and financial
resources. Drivers are kindly requested to take care during
driving, avoid distractions and speeding that may kill them
and kill Others on the road.
