EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
We all know what to expect of Easter: lots of lilies
around the altar, our "Alleluia" joyfully sung over and over, per-
haps a tasty ham dinner later in the day, topped off by some
chocolates from the Easter basket. But all of this began, as we
hear in today's Gospel, with the "unexpected" when Mary Mag- HOLY WEEK AND EASTER SCHEDULE

table with his followers. On a day like Easter, a day filled with
traditions, customs, and expectations, we are called more than
ever to keep looking for God's will in unexpected places, people,
and events. In this way we can continue to give witness, like
Mary Magdalene and Peter, that Christ is truly risen from dead, BEGINNING AND END
and continues to live among us. Faith is the beginning and the end
is love.
