Codes & Standards followed:

Lightning protection system design is based on BS EN 62305
Complete Earthing system is provided in accordance with BS7671:2008 IEE Wiring
Regulations and BS 7430 (2011) Code of Practice for protective Earthing of electrical
installations and Local Authority Regulations
All cable containment systems is appropriately sized in accordance with Chapter 52
of BS7671, applicable space factors dependent on cable type and method of
installation is applied and the applicable tables within BS7671 consulted.
Small power provision within the station will cater for the functional requirements of
the proposed MEP services amenities, General purpose receptacles, station display
and information systems, outlets for extra low voltage systems is provided as per
the recommendations of BS7671, BSRIA design guides and the requirements of the
local authority Kahramaa.
The type of cables been proposed for various applications are as below and
indicated in table.
a. All normal power supply cables shall be Cu/XLPE/SWA/LSOH cables unless
otherwise specified.
b. All life safety equipments cables shall be Cu/FR/SWA/LSOH cables unless
otherwise specified.
c. All final circuit cables and single core cables are LSOH unless otherwise
specified.
Cables been proposed for various applications:
a. General power distribution Cu / XLPE / SWA / LSOH 1.5 mm2 to 300 mm2
b. Life safety service for power distribution Fire resistant armoured cable Cu
/FR / SWA / LSOH
1.5 mm2 to 300 mm2
c. Final circuits (Lighting & Small Power) LSOH 2.5 mm2 to 6.0 mm2
Cabling for Central battery system/Emergency lighting will be enhanced fire
resistant cables (White colour) complying with fire resistant insulation category CWZ
to BS 6387 for sizes upto 6mm2, PH120 classified to BS EN 50200 and comply with
CAT3 of BS 8519. Final lighting cables used to connect CBS panel to egress &
emergency luminaire will be Fire resistant cable (White colour) 2C x 2.5mm2,
installed in steel conduit.
All alarm detection and life safety services for fire alarm system cables shall be
enhanced fire resistant cables (Red colour) complying with fire resistant insulation
category CWZ to BS 6387 for sizes up to 6mm2, PH120 classified to BS EN 50200
and shall be in compliance with category 3 fire survival time as stated in section 11,
BS8519:2010.and comply with CAT3 of BS 8519. Fire resistant cables for fire alarm
devices is 2C x 1.5mm2 Enhanced (PH120) Fire resistant cable (Red colour). Note:
Shield wire of the fire alarm cable will be used for grounding.

The Fire Detection and Alarm System is designed in accordance with NFPA 72
All lighting luminaires proposed for the back of house (BOH) areas & Front of house
areas (FOH) are controlled through KNX compatible DALI lighting control system.
DALI is most advanced lighting control system for flexible lighting system control
with simple power wiring, fully programmable, dimmable, switchable, time
controlled operation, etc through a Cat-6/ Twisted pair control for connectivity to
DALI luminaires, Sensors and interfacing devices, override switches, etc. There is no
power Dimmer or group control wiring system implemented, so 100% flexibly for
programming and controlling of each and every luminaire is possible. KNX protocol
is specified as per ER requirements. It is a type of protocol and several protocols are
available.
Lighting levels will confirm to BS EN12464-1, BS 4533, QCS 2014 Sec-21 Part-11,
EN61000 and EN60529 as well as to CIBSE for spaces not covered in BS.
Switchboard classification provided is as per BS EN 60439-1 Section 3. Circuit
breakers selected for over current and short circuit protection will be rated for the
specified ambient temperature and will not require any further de-rating. Circuit
breakers will be appropriately sized as per BS7671 Appendix4, Section4, BS
EN60439-1, Section 3, ER Vol-6, QCS and KAHRAMAA
All Low voltage electrical equipment, apparatus, accessories and fittings is designed
and manufactured to operate continuously in the electrical supply system of
Kahramaa having the following characteristics;
