The Capital One Orange Bowl and the Goodyear Cotton Bowl will host the Playoff Semifinals on
New Years Eve
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS The College Football Playoff (CFP) Selection Committee announced today its final
top 25 rankings for the 2015 regular season along with match-ups for the Playoff Semifinals and New
Years Six bowls.
On December 31, No. 1 Clemson will face No. 4 Oklahoma in the Capital One Orange Bowl at 4 p.m. ET.
The Goodyear Cotton Bowl will follow at 8 p.m. ET as No. 2 Alabama plays No. 3 Michigan State.
Many people focus on the top four, but it is also important, especially for the student-athletes who play
college football, to recognize every team in the top 25. For many students, playing in a bowl game is a
highlight of their life, said selection chairman Jeff Long. The second year of the College Football Playoff
Selection Committee is now in the books. I am honored by the process, dedication and preparation that
the committee members brought week in and week out. Its a lot of work, a lot of study and a lot of
detailed conversation. Im grateful to each of them for their commitment.
The winner of the Orange Bowl will face the winner of the Cotton Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, at University
of Phoenix Stadium, for the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday, January 11.
The CFP also announced the New Years Six bowl match-ups.
Leading into the Playoff Semifinals on New Years Eve day, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl will feature No. 9
Florida State versus No. 18 Houston.
On January 1, 2016, the excitement will continue as the BattleFrog Fiesta Bowl will match No. 7 Ohio State
against No. 8 Notre Dame, followed by the Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual featuring
