Dr.

Hayes Wicker, Senior Pastor

Renewal of Commitment
The Christmas season is especially significant for me, not
only because of the Saviors birth, but also I was born
again at that time and married Janet on December 27,
1975. The First Baptist Church of Kingsland, Georgia was
beautifully decorated for Christmas by my bride. Dr. Bill
Hightower performed the wedding and challenged us to a
lifetime of loyal love based on the Lord. We are celebrating
with our family this significant 40th anniversary by attending
that sweet church where Janet grew up and by having a time of family worship
as we renew our vows to the Lord and each other.
I thank God that when I proposed with Psalm 34:3, that Janet accepted. She
has truly magnified the Lord with me as we have exalted His name together.
Through pastorates in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and now Florida, she
has been a marvelous encourager, companion, and blessed servant of the Lord.
We are so grateful for the inheritance of the Lord through our three children
who all love Jesus, as well as our five grandchildren who are a great delight.

Bruce Addison grew up in our church and has served for over 13 years in the
Navy. We will have his formal swearing in ceremony prior to the regular Saturday

We are excited to offer our Seasonal Sunday 11:00am Worship Service in the
Worship Center, with music led by Dr. Todd Stearns and our Choir and Orchestra,
starting on January 3. Please help us spread the word, and look for opportunities
to invite others to worship with you in whichever service you attend.

The cost is $15. For details, please contact Terry at tcole@fbcn.org or 572-3316.

Understanding and Answering Islam

Friday, January 15 - 7:00-9:00pm and
Saturday, January 16 - 9:00am-3:30pm

I will be back in the pulpit to continue my Dragons study on January 2/3, just in
time to begin the new 11:00 Seasonal Worship Service in the Worship Center
auditorium. The Chapel service will continue, but because of the installation
of new technology in the Chapel, video capability will not be available.
Consequently, our staff will speak in my place. That will probably last for about
a month depending on the speed of the company. The live band, with Pastor
Eric leading, will continue to be a blessing.
