IncooperationwithKulturKontaktAustria,theAustrianFederalChancellerymakesavailable
50residenciesinAustria(ViennaandSalzburg)fortheyear2016.

TheresidencyisdesignedtoofferanopportunitytofamiliariseoneselfwiththeAustrianart
sceneandculturalenvironmentandtomakecontactwithAustrianartists.Residentsare
expectedtocompleteaprojectduringtheirstay.

Duringtheirstay,theartistsinresidencewillbemadefamiliarwiththeartsceneand
culturalenvironment.Activitiesonofferincludevisitsatgalleries,studiosandmuseums,
contactstotheliteratureandpublishingsector,aswellasaccesstoViennasorSalzburgs
musiclife.Wheneverpossible,theresidentswillreceivefreeticketsforartandbookfairs,
performancesattheTanzquartierWien,theinternationalImPulsTanzdancefestivaland
otherevents.
DuringtheirstayinSalzburg,theartistsinresidencewillbetakencareofbyKunstverein
Salzburg.

ThereisthepossibilityofparticipatingactivelyintheArtistsinResidencegotoSchool
ProgrammeofKulturKontaktAustria(theprogrammeincludesreadingeventsand
workshopsatAustrianschools).

ThiscallisopentoartistswhosepermanentplaceofresidenceisoutsideofAustriaandwho
havecompletedtheirtraining.Austriancitizenscannotapplyforthisprogramme.
AbasicworkingknowledgeofGermanorEnglishisrequired.Theagelimitforapplicantsis
40years,i.e.theapplicantsdateofbirthhastobeafterthe31December1975.

Artistswhohavealreadyparticipatedinartistinresidenceprogrammesorganisedby
KulturKontaktAustria,theAustrianFederalChancelleryortheAustrianFederalMinistryof
Education,theArtsandCulturearenoteligibleforparticipation.

organisationalsupport.

time.Whiletheintentionistohavethefirstperformanceofthepiecewithintheresidence

Whatcanbeexpectedfromtheresidency?

ResidenciesareprovidedinViennaorSalzburg.
Accommodationsubjecttoavailability,eitherinanapartmentattheSchlossLaudon
Parkdependance(14thdistrict),aroominaflatinViennas3rdor9thdistrictoran
apartmentatSalzburgerKunstvereinintheCityofSalzburg.
TheassignmentofaccommodationinViennaismadebytheresidencyprovider.
Unfortunately,individualpreferencescannotbetakenintoaccount.
UseofacommunitystudioinViennas2nddistrict,atSchlossLaudonoratthe
SalzburgerKunstverein.
Contributiontocostoflivingexpensesof800permonth;incaseofabsence
exceeding7days,aproratashareofcostoflivingexpenseswillbepaid.
Onetimecontributiontoartsuppliesof300forvisualartistsandcomposers.
Travelexpenseswillnotbepaidnorrefunded.
Thecostoftranslationforonesampletext(nomorethan10pagesat1800characters
each)fromaforeignlanguageintoGermanforwriters.
Accidentandhealthinsurance;insurancecoverexcludeschronicdiseaseanddental
work.
Forthedurationofthestayanddependingontheplaceofaccommodation,residents
areprovidedwithamobileinternetconnectstickincludingSIMcardorWLANforthe
durationoftheirresidency.Notebookswillnotbeprovided.
Forthedurationofthestay,acellphonewithaonetimeprepaidcreditintheamount
of40willbemadeavailabletotheresidents.
ResidentswillalsoreceivemonthlypassesforpublictransportinViennaorSalzburg
forthedurationoftheirstay.
Regularcleaningserviceforthelivingquartersandchangeofbedlinenandtowelswill
beprovidedweeklyormonthly,accordingtotheplace.
Inprinciple,apresentationofworksmaybearrangedtowardstheendofthe
residency.
Nofinancialsupportcanbeprovidedfortheproductionofcatalogues,translations,
bookreleasesandperformances.
Residentsmaynotbringotherpeople(familymembers,friends,acquaintances,etc.)or
petstotheresidency.Onlyresidentsmayspendthenightattheaccommodation.
Compliancewiththehouserulesoftheresidencyisoftheutmostimportance.
