Asthma

A condition of lungs which makes it difficult to

breath because of the blocks and narrowness
appeared in the airways. The sudden narrowing
of the airways is triggered by the catalytic
elements like allergen, cold air stress or heavy
exercise.
Cough, wheezing, difficulties in breathing
feeling tight chest are typical symptoms of
Asthma. The attack of asthma occurs at
intervals. Between the intervals the patients feel
normal and fine. Asthma is put under the
category of chronic diseases and it has affected
a large number of people worldwide.
This disease is of two types:
1. Allergic or Extrinsic
2. Non Allergic or Intrinsic
Though it becomes fatal at the time of attack, a
proper treatment can control it and let one lead
a normal and active life.
Both types of Asthma are categorised under
chronic disease which causes the inflammation
in the airways of lungs. The inflamed airways
develop some secondary symptoms out of
which one is over sensitive "bronchi (the
branches of airways leading to lungs)."
These bronchi become too responsive to the
asthma causing triggers like allergen, cold and
dry air and smokes. The second secondary
symptom that develops is the problem with
lungs. It becomes difficult for the lung to move
the air in and out.
These two symptoms together develop the
asthmatic characteristics of wheezing, coughing
and chest tightness and others.
Various symptoms of Asthma are manifested
with the blocks and narrowness caused due to
an exposure to the allergens, heavy exercise,
stress. Some of them are:
1. Unexpected and sudden breathlessness
2. Choky chest
3. Cough

Very few people in the entire

world are blessed with diseasefree health. Human beings
have been witnessing various
diseases since ages. A dormant
or new disease is discovered
almost every year.
Some
fatal
diseases
are there
which
are
already
well
recognised and they have
made mass of people their
victims all around the globe.
Asthma is one of them. The
prime cause of asthma is
narrowness in respiratory tract
which leads to breathing
shortness, wheezing and
coughing. Different triggering
agents like allergens and some
environmental factors and
eating habits are responsible
for the development of this
disease in human beings.
People of every age are found
to be the victims of asthma all
over the world. Even younger
and new born children are not
intact from this dreadful
disease.

There seems to be nothing wrong in saying that birth, old age, death and disease
are the biggest problems human beings have been associated with since time
immemorial. Leaving the three, birth, old age, and death (which require a great
philosophical as well as scientific knowledge to understand "why" and "how" behind
them) aside, disease is something which any body will hardy reject as one of the
biggest problems.
