Pastors Remarks
Dear Church Family,
The year 2015 has gone rather quickly. It is time for us to focus on the new year and see it
as an opportunity to be and do what God has called us to.
What kind of vision do you have for the future? Let me encourage you, if you have not
done so, to set some personal goals for yourself, in the areas of physical, emotional,
financial and spiritual. What about some goals for your area of ministry in your church?
Of course, providing that Jesus does not return (which could happen anytime), where do
you see yourself, your family, and your church this time next year?
I believe that 2016 will provide you and me opportunities to be witnesses for Jesus. People
will be observing us, as Gods people, as to our attitude and behavior and how we respond
to lifes challenges. What a great time for us to be able to share a witness with both our
example and our words, to what God can do. He still gives love, forgiveness, hope, peace,
joy and purpose. How can you lose with those provisions?

Thank the Lord for

opening another
chapter in our lives.
May we live each
page with more
meaning by
touching peoples
lives each day.
Happy
New
Year!

These are some things that I wish for all of us for this new year:
1. That God would nudge us out of our comfort zones, as we seek to obey Him. It is

easy to get in a routine and become content. Sometimes we need to take a risk for

God and step out in faith.

2. That we would know the thrill of personally seeing someone come to know Jesus.
Remember that everyone will spend eternity in one of two places, heaven or hell.
How exciting to know that someone is going to heaven because you had a part in

sharing Jesus with someone.

3. That we would seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
What is priority in your life?

My prayer is that we, as a church body, are all that God desires us to be. It is not so much
about doing church as it is about being the church. Lets be found faithful in this new year!
In His love,

Bro. Darrol

Sons of The Father In Concert

Location: Fir st Baptist Church

Date: J anuar y 31, 2016

Time: 6:00 pm

Sons of The Father are full-time music evangelists traveling out of West Frankfort, IL. This father and his
two sons have been ministering across the nation since 1989 in an average of 175 events a year. Using a
variety of styles, from acappella hymns and inspirational music to southern and contemporary gospel, Sons
of The Father sing everywhere from the largest churches and events in the nation to the local church. They
split their time between Bible Conferences, Concerts, Revivals, and other special events.
Sons of The Father is Les, Chris and Brent Snyder. On the road since 1976, Les had been doing an
itinerant music ministry, when his sons joined him in 1989. Their ministry takes them from the largest
churches and conventions in America to some of the smallest in rural and sparsely populated areas. They
have 21 recordings together and Brent also has a solo recording. All three of the Sons of The Father are
ordained ministers and feel called by God to do what they do. A "show" is not really what Sons of The Father
are about. For them it's about ministering to people through music and sharing The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Dear Church Family,

2016 is here!!! It is hard to believe how quickly this year has come and gone. With everything in a blur, we are hitting
the ground running this year in the Student Ministry! We already have tons of events and activities planned and are very
excited about all we are going to be doing this year!
I wanted to take a minute and give you a snapshot of our upcoming activities. January and February are busy months
and we ask that you will join us and pray for us as we journey through the following weeks.

O2 CAF
Beginning January 4th, we will be reintroducing the 2016 O2 Caf. The caf will be open every Monday evening in
January (and potentially February) from 5:00pm 6:30pm in the Smith Building. J oin us for a meal and help the
students raise money for special events such as YOUTH CAMP!!! I will reveal the menu for the following night each
Sunday during the morning announcements.
WINTER JAM
Winter Jam is a one night concert at the Amalie arena in Tampa Bay.
The concert hosts 10 contemporary Christian bands, such as Matthew
West and David Crowder, all for the low price of $10.00 a person.
Winter Jam is scheduled for Saturday, January16th, and we will be
leaving at 1:00 p.m. for anyone who would like to be a part of this
awesome experience.
PLANET WISDOM
Planet Wisdom is a two day discipleship conference that is absolutely life changing. This
years theme is titled BECAUSE OF JESUS: what He has done and what that means
for us. The conference will be held at the Lakeland Centre (Civic Center) on January 29th
& 30th, and will cost $52.00 per student. If you have a student (7th-12th grade) who would
like to attend this event or if you would like to sponsor a student to go, please contact me
at the church office as soon as possible.

As always, it is an honor to serve this church body. Thank you for being the people you are and for loving the Lord the
way you do!
Keep fishing,

Bro. Brian

Risk Management Meeting

O2 Caf Student Fundraiser

The annual Risk Management Meeting is

Sunday, January 17, 4:30 p.m. in the
Fellowship Hall. This is a mandatory
meeting for anyone who works in any
capacity with nursery, preschool, children
or students.

The O2 Caf is back this year! Each

Monday in January, the Smith Building will
be opened from 5:00-6:30 p.m. The church
body and the community are invited to dine.
The minimum donation is $7.00.

We will discuss policy and procedures

concerning reducing the risk of child abuse
and other security issues.
If for any reason you will not be able to
attend the meeting, please contact the
church office. A make up meeting will be
held on Sunday, February 7 at 4:30 p.m.

The O2 Caf is a fun way to incorporate

student service into fundraising. All funds
donated during this time will go to the
students who serve. The proceeds help
provide financial aid to students attending
Super Summer Camp July 18-22, 2016.
Thank you for your continual support.
