Indeed we have! I recently traveled over 20 hours from California to
the city of Darwin, the capital city of the Northern Territories (NT), Australia. Several years ago the NT State Police chose to adopt 5.11 Tactical uniforms as standard issue. Officers in this part of the world face
unique challenges of extreme temperatures and unpredictable conditions across a vast expanse that spans from Alice Springs in the center
of Australia to Darwin, 1500 kilometers north. Our 5.11 mission speaks
of the most demanding missions and NT State Police put our gear to
the test. The encouraging news is that they report our uniforms and
gear earned high levels of officer satisfaction.

OUR HERITAGE
Born on the sheer granite faces of Yosemite
National Park, the first 5.11 pants were designed by
and for a handful of the worlds first and foremost
rock climbers. Later, those pants became the choice
of the FBI National Academy for training apparel.
Those original cotton canvas pants remain just as
rugged and versatile today.
Ten years ago we launched our first catalog with the
5.11 Tactical pant and an assortment of five other
items, all designed by and for Federal Law
Enforcement professionals.
5.11 is originally a rock climbing difficulty level

as listed in the Yosemite Decimal System. It is
officially defined as:After thorough inspection,
you conclude this move is impossible; however,
occasionally someone actually accomplishes it.
