1. INSTALLATION

1. Break out the SuperSim SIM Card from the plastic card.
2. Insert the SIM Card in your GSM phone.
3. Switch your phone on (ensure your battery is charged).

Note: For SuperSim to function properly, your mobile phone must be SIM unlocked. When
you originally purchased your phone from your mobile telecom operator, it is possible that
your operator may have “locked” your mobile to prevent its use with other mobile operators’
SIM cards. If this is the case, contact your mobile operator and request an “unlock code.”
They are obliged to unlock the phone, but there may be conditions or a cost to you
associated with this. They will guide you through this process.

2. MAKING CALLS
2.1 SUPERSIM CALLBACK – HOW IT WORKS

SuperSim uses callback operation to connect you to your destination number. SuperSim call
back operates the following way:
1. The caller initiates the call by sending the callback number and the destination
number to SuperSim switch.
2. SuperSim switch calls back at the callback number specified by the caller.
3. The caller answers the call.
4. SuperSim switch plays a prompt asking the caller to hold or informs the balance.
5. SuperSim switch calls the destination number and connects the two calls together.

Important: One of the greatest advantages of the SuperSim is that the service can be
configured to call back not only to the SuperSim itself, but also to any other mobile or
landline number in any country of the world.

Example: The caller travels to Italy with SuperSim. He is visiting his friend’s villa and wants
to talk to his girlfriend in Montreal; however, he wants his call to be connected to the friend’s
home phone number, to avoid incoming call charges to SuperSim. The user can request

3

SuperSim switch to call the Montreal number and connect it call to his friend’s house
number.

2.2 USING SUPERSIM TO MAKE CALLS

The SuperSim will carry the call while roaming. The default callback number of the SuperSim
is its voice number.
1. Key in the destination number you wish to call. Use the following format:

Do not use international prefix such as 00 or 011.

Example: For calling a Toronto number dial *134*14169481115#. For calling a

Washington D.C. number dial *134*12025572244#.

2. After dialing the destination number your phone will disconnect. Ignore any
messages the phone may display during this process (even error messages). After a
slight pause you will receive a callback call from SuperSim switch. Answer the call
normally.
3. There might be a slight silence as you pick-up the phone. Wait a moment while your
call is being connected to the destination.

Note: Some GSM handsets might support dialing your destination in the following format:

In order to check if your handset supports this dial format, just try to dial your destination
number in this format (e.g. +14169481115) in Step 1 above. If you receive a normal call
back as explained in Step 2 and Step 3 above, then your phone supports this dialing format
and you can alternatively call your destinations using this format.

2.3 SETTING A CALLBACK NUMBER

The SuperSim can be used to trigger (initiate) calls with callback to any other landline or
mobile phone. This function is especially useful when you travel to a destination where you

4

have access to a phone that can receive calls cheaper than receiving calls on your
SuperSim. In this case, the SuperSim will command our switch to call your destination
number, but connect the call to the callback number specified by you. In this case, SuperSim
acts merely as a mediator in sending the necessary destination and callback numbers to
SuperSim switch.

The default callback number is your SuperSim number.

To register a new callback number with SuperSim switch please dial:

or

Example: You are visiting your Washington D.C. office from Toronto and wish to set-up a
callback number in you D.C. office. To set up a new callback number simply dial
*134*12025572255*.

The callback number specified by you remains a default one, unless a new callback number
is set. After setting the callback number the calls are dialed in usual format:

Important: You can utilize the power of SuperSim’s callback function if you have any of our
Dual-SIM GSM Handsets. Equip SIM1 of the phone with SuperSim, and equip SIM2 with a
local mobile SIM card of the country you are visiting, that has free or unlimited incoming
minutes. Set up the local mobile number to be your callback number. In this case, you have
the power of SuperSim and convenience of using just one mobile handset for all your
inbound and outbound calls. Incoming calls will be received on your SuperSim numbers, but
outgoing calls will be delivered to your local mobile number – all at the convenience of just
one handset.

2.4 MAKING OUTGOING CALLS WITH CALLBACK NUMBER

Alternatively, you can immediately dial your destination and callback numbers at once.

5

1. In order to dial a destination number and specify a new callback number, please key
in as follows:

or

2. After dialing the destination number your phone will disconnect. Ignore any
messages the phone may display during this process (even error messages).
After a slight pause you will receive a callback call from SuperSim switch on a
callback number specified. Answer the call normally.

3. There might be a slight silence as you pick-up the phone. Wait a moment while your
call is being connected to the destination.

3. RECEIVING CALLS
3.1 RECEIVING CALLS

Give the SuperSim voice (phone) number to anyone you wish to stay in touch with during
your travel. The SuperSim switch will automatically deliver all your incoming calls to the
callback number you specified (See 2.3 Setting a Callback Number). By default, all your calls
will be delivered to your SuperSim voice number.

3.2 CALL FORWARDING

You can also forward calls made to your current mobile, business or home phone number to
your SuperSim number to never miss an important call while travelling. As the SuperSim
number is a local Toronto number, you will not incur any long distance charges for your
landline. Your cost in this case is cost of your incoming call to your SuperSim in the country
of travel.

6

Example: Your SuperSim number is (416) 840-1655. You will be visiting Germany for a
week, but you will be expecting an important call from one of your key accounts during this
week and you didn’t have a chance to inform him about your travel. In order not to miss his
call while in Germany, simply forward your business phone or local mobile phone calls to
(416) 840-1655 SuperSim number. This way, if your key account calls to your business or
mobile phone during your travel, his call will be forwarded to your SuperSim number (416)
840-1655.

Important: Please note that if you set a different callback number in the example above, all
forwarded calls will be delivered to that number instead of SuperSim number.

4. VOICEMAIL

When there is no answer or when the SuperSim is out of range or the phone is off your
incoming calls will be directed to your voicemail. Your voicemail number is
1 (416) 840-1539
You can call the voicemail either from the SuperSim or any other phone.

To listen to your voicemail from SuperSim:

1. From SuperSim dial
or
2. When prompted with "Mailbox?", input your SuperSim voice number. (Press # at the
end of the number to proceed to the next step immediately.)
3. When prompted with "Password?", input the last four digits of the SuperSim serial
number.
4. When prompted with "You have X new messages", press 1 for new messages.
5. Follow the prompts.

5. RECEIVING TEXT MESSAGES (SMS)

7

Your SuperSim comes with two numbers: for voice calls and SMS messages. SMS messages
cannot be received on your voice number. Please provide your calling party with your
SuperSim SMS number if you wish to receive SMS messages while traveling.

6. CHECKING YOUR ACCOUNT BALANCE

You can check your account balance at any time online or from your SuperSim.

To check your account balance from SuperSim dial:

7. RECHARGING YOUR ACCOUNT

You can recharge your account either through the vendor that has sold you the card, or any
other time by logging into your account online. You can recharge by using PayPal or
Moneybookers.

Please remember your username and password are:

Username: [Your SuperSim phone number]
Password: [Last 4 digits of the serial number of your SuperSim]

Please keep this information in safe place.

8. VIEWING CALL HISTORY AND ACCOUNT INFORMATION

Login at www.xxxxxxx.com with your username and password to see the call records and

9. TROUBLESHOOTING
9.1 CAN’T MAKE CALLS

1. Confirm that your mobile phone is getting a network signal. If you know that mobile
services exist in the area but a network is not available, it is possible that the
SuperSim service is not available in this country. Please see our website for the list of
countries where the SuperSim service can be used.
2. Make that the SuperSim is registered on the local network. If not, your account could
have been deactivated due to zero account balance. Dial *134*0# to check your
account balance. If your account balance is zero, please recharge so that it has
enough funds to make calls.
3. Make sure that you are not keying in “00” or “011” in before the destination number.
Please consult 2.2 USING SUPERSIM TO MAKE CALLS and 2.4 MAKING
OUTGOING CALLS WITH CALLBACK NUMBER of this Quick Start Guide to see
the acceptable dialing formats.
4. Dial *134*0#. If the SuperSim is operating successfully you will be able to see your
account balance. If not (if there is no response), please manually select a different
network operator (if available) and try again.
5. If you are dialing in the following format

and you cannot make calls this means that the GSM handset you are using currently
might not be a compatible model. Try performing steps described in Item 4 above. If
you can see your account balance then the system is functioning correctly, however
your handset can’t properly communicate with the SIM to capture the dialing process.
Please either change to a compatible handset or use the following formats to dial:
