GmbH(GADE)inGermanyasamanufacturingandGabaU.K.(GAUK)asasales/service/project
managementorganization.ThereportingcurrencyineachlegalentityisUSDandtheaccounting
currencyofeachlegalentitycorrespondstoitsappropriatecountry.
ThismeansthattheGUSA,GAUK,GMEXandGADEmanagetheiraccountingbooksindependentlyand
complyasrequiredbycountrycodeoflawsandregulatoryrequirements.GABA,theparent
organization,needstomeasureandreporttheconsolidatedcompanyperformancetoitsstakeholders,
thatis,shareholders,government,regulatorybodies,andsoon.GUSAhasthreedepartmentsFinance,

1. GabaEnterprises(GABA)sharesthesamechartofaccountswiththeotherfourlegal
entities.Thecontrollerhasrequestedforallnecessaryaccountstobecreatedintheshared
chartofaccount.TheledgeraccountwillrequireaformatofMainAccountDepartment
CostCenterGTLServices.
2. TheGABArequiresbalancingdimensionfeaturetobeimplementedforGTLServices
financialdimensionforallitslegalentities.
3. AllorganizationssharethesamefiscalcalendarwiththefirstyearstartonAugust1st 2012.
Thefiscalperiodsarebasedon445.The445calendardividesayearinto4quarters.Each
quarterhas13weeks,whicharegroupedintotwo4week"months"andone5week
"month".GABAcontrollerhasaskedyoutonamethefirstyearwiththeformatFY20XXand
toallowpostingtothesystemuntil2019.

4. GABAneedtoanalyzefinancialdatabasedontheUSD,GBP,EURandMXN
currencies.GABAneeds to setupmainaccountsin the COA. The opening
balancesforeachcompany,whichistheactualamountofcashavailableon
alllegalentitiesareasfollowasofAugust1st2012:

6. Eachlegalentityhasfewcustomersandvendors.Someofwhichareshared
amongallorsomeofthelegalentities.
7. Inalllegalentitiesthetermsofpaymentforbothcustomersandvendors
areNet45.Therearetwoseparatemethodsofpayments;oneusesthe
bridgingconceptwith3daysgrossperiodtosimplifythereconciliation
process,theotherusesdirectpayfromtheirbankusingthechecktobe
usedtoissueonecheckforallinvoices.Eachlegalentityusestheproper
formatofthecheckforthecorrespondingcountrytheyoperatein.GADE
hasanagreementwithitsvendortopayitsinvoicesbasedon4installment
paymentsas10%,25%,35%,and30%ofthetotalinvoiceamount.
8. TheGMEXhasbeenofferedtoreceivecashdiscountsof7%ifdecidedto
payitsinvoiceswithinthefirst10daysand3%ifpaidbetween11thto20th
daysoftheinvoiceamount.GMEXusesbridgingposting.
9. GUSAandGADErequirestouseVendorInvoicedocument,whileGAUKusesinvoicejournals
andGMEXusesinvoiceregistersandapprovalforpostingvendorinvoices.

returnsbacktoGMEX. BothGUSAandGAUKhaveapolicyofreplacingthe
productwhichhasbeenreturnedbythecustomeratnoadditionalcharge.
26. GAUKrequirescreatingautomaticintercompanychainordertobeinitiatedfromitsoriginal
salesordertoitscustomersintheUK.TheoriginalsalesordersfromGAUKmustbesetupas
directdeliveryfromGMEXandtoavoidanyextrahandlingtimethestatusofthedelivery
andinvoicemustbesynchronizedbetweenalldocuments.Thereisaninternalagreement
betweenGAUKandGMEXforanyorderinitiatedfromtheGAUK.
27. GAUKusesperiodicpaymentjournalforrentalofnewofficeinVictoria,London.Howeverit
requiresforjournalstobeapprovedviaaworkflow.
