Ding Dong Merrily On High:

1. Ding dong merrily on high,
In heav'n the bells are ringing:
Ding dong! verily the sky
Is riv'n with angel singing.
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!

2. E'en so here below, below,

Let steeple bells be swungen,
And "Io, io, io!"
By priest and people sungen.
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!

3. Pray you, dutifully prime

Your matin chime, ye ringers;
May you beautifully rime
Your evetime song, ye singers.
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!

Hark The Herald Angels Sing:

1. Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing"
Glory to the newborn King!"

2. Christ by highest heav'n adored

Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

3. Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!

Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Witham Singers was founded ten years ago in September

2005 and this concert marks that anniversary. The singers
started life as Witham Community Singers and was
founded by Hans Montaana, who we are fortunate to have
play for us tonight. A group for all ages our current musical
director had joined the choir that same year aged 15 and we
havent been able to get rid of him since. With a wide and
varied repertoire, the Witham Singers have covered nearly
the entire musical spectrum from light opera to Sam Smith.
We are also please to showcase two new compositions
written especially for this concertTen Years On Music by Hans Montaana
Poem by M. Haddon.
&
The Sweetest Babe- Music by Thomas Duchan
We can currently rehearse at Witham United Reform
Church on Monday evenings, 7.30pm for a 10 week term
ending with a concert. We are open to anyone wishing to
give singing a go! Our spring term restarts on Monday
January 4th 2016. For more details please speak to any
member of the choir or our musical director Thomas
Duchan.
It is our pleasure to have you with us this evening to
celebrate our 10th anniversary and so, if youre an old friend
or seeing us for the first time, Witham singers would like to
wish you a Merry Christmas and hope to see you again!
Thanks to:
