Ulwe lies immediately to the south of proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport,
potentially served by both road and proposed Metro Rail
To the west lies the site for the proposed MTHL landing (six-lane dual carriage way Road
Bridge connecting Sewri on Mumbai side to Nhava on Navi Mumbai side) & Ulwe West
(Waterfront) SEZ
The site is very well connected to both the National and State Highways and can be accessed
through Amra Marg, the principal arterial road, connecting Navi Mumbai CBD to the
proposed Navi Mumbai International Airport and Jawaharlal Nehru Port

Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link

Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link

The proposed additional access i.e. Mumbai
Trans Harborlink (MTHL) Connecting Sewari
(Mumbai end) to Nhava Sheva (Navi Mumbai
end) is expected to be the catalyst of
development of the city by promoting
horizontal growth as against the vertical
growth experienced over the past few years.
The link will help reduce the problems of
congestion and pollution in Mumbai

Mumbai Trans Harbour Link

It is proposed to be developed as an Expressway link with a six lane dual

carriage way road bridge and rail bridge (considering Metro Rail Provision
too.) The proposed development initiatives will not just give rise to additional
traffic movement but also accentuate the need for greater economic
integration of Mumbai with the mainland

Navi Mumbai Metro

The Mass Rapid Transit System, in the form of suburban railway, in Navi
Mumbai was commissioned in 1992 with the commissioning of MankhurdVashi railway line
and was extended up to Belapur in 1993, and thereafter upto Panvel in
1998
The other rail corridor i.e. Thane-Turbhe-Nerul-Vashi rail corridor was
commissioned in 2004
Out of the six proposed rail corridors, the third i.e. Nerul-Uran rail
corridor is under progress and the work will recommence shortly
With the change in land use and considering the importance of
commuting and transportation, it was found necessary to review the
transportation system of Navi Mumbai
Accordingly, a new kind of transportation system like Metro railway is
expected to be the ideal option
