Teaching Point (i.e. what you will be working on in terms of Language items / language skills)
Listening strategies how to listen for the general idea
Main Lesson Aim (i.e. what you hope the sts will achieve/be able to do better after your lesson)
By the end of my lesson the students will be better able to.
Listen for the general idea and main details in the context of a radio programme.

Subsidiary aims (if any)

Make sts feel comfortable with the idea of listening without understanding every word.

Assumptions (i.e. what I think the learners know / dont know that led me to choose these aims!)
Sts find it difficult to listen to materials in English because they focus on understanding every word.
The listening piece is quite difficult for this level, which means I might have to play the tape several
times for the same task.
Some sts will find it easy to get the main idea and not need to listen again.
Evidence (i.e. how will you know if your aims have been achieved?)
At the end of the lesson sts will have understood the main idea in each of the 4 pieces of news in the
radio programme
They should be able to reproduce these pieces in their own words.
Personal goals (i.e. what are you trying to improve in your own skills as a teacher?)
Involving the weaker sts.

Materials used:
