Death penalty outline

1. WHAT IS THE DEATH PENALTY?

a. Definition: "The death penalty is the execution of a convicted by
the State as punishment for an offense under the law"
b. The death penalty compared to the famous extrajudicial
executions, disappearances and torture, not denied or concealed;
but on the contrary, it is part of the laws of the country that
applies.

2. Data
a. There are currently 84 countries where this serious penalty applies
and although various government and non-governmental
organizations have made efforts to try to convince governments
to abolish it.
b. Fortunately, we can say that today more than half of the world's
countries have abolished the death penalty in law or in practice.
c. The United Nations proclaimed the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights to protect and defend the dignity and freedom of all
human beings, regardless of gender, age, race, color, sexual
preference, religion, etc. (Section three); and the prohibition of
torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, simply by virtue
of being human (article five).
3. Opinion
a. SO ask ourselves: Is the death penalty goes against several
articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, or there is
an exception for people labeled as murderers, rapists, drug
traffickers, etc? Is this type of people "leave" being human and
therefore should be deprived of their own human rights?
4. Human rights
a. Human rights: Can we stop being human to any kind of situation?
b. it Never is known or will know, of a person in committing the
offense, has ceased to be human: "Man is a feature of every
individual, which it acquires from birth, and thus has inviolable
rights and duties before the law and society to which it belongs,
so you never lose this condition until the day of his death "
5. What is your position
a. 2 points in favor or against the Death Penalty.
b. AGAINST :
i. Not reduce crime more than the life sentence for example.
ii. runs leads to a lot of innocent people.
iii. It creates discrimination against minorities.
iv. It is a violation of human rights.

v. The low-income people are disadvantaged by not having

enough time to take a strong legal process capital.
6. A big mistake
a. All people argue that err is human. And sometimes it happens
that he is sentenced to death an innocent person. This is a terrible
mistake. Consider that also happens to committing the same
offense, a person is sentenced to death and another not. This of
course is not an error.
7. PERSONAL CONCLUSION
a. Put yourself in the event that a family, mother, brother or son of a
death row inmate in state hands, Would you be in favor of the
death penalty? Each execution increases the suffering in society
and multiplies the number of victims of violence, leaving a large
number of broken families.
The death penalty is retrograde, then bet more to conditioning
that education rather than punishment to avoidance of crimes. For
the State is more convenient to prevent punish, intimidate they
prefer to care and this situation can no longer continue.
The death penalty is a violation of fundamental rights and the
dignity of a person. It is an act of revenge, NO JUSTICE.
