A HEART
OF WORSHIP
II Samuel 6:12-23
I'm so excited about being able to worship with you again today. I had
a wonderful time preaching for my friend in Ohio this past week, but
like Dorothy said in The Wizard of Oz , “There's no place like home.” I
actually thought it would be warmer there, but I was surprised when I
checked the weather here and discovered that you were experiencing
temperatures in the 70's while Ohio was stuck in the 50's.
Let me take just a moment in this space today to thank you all for the
wonderful birthday celebration that you planned for my 60th. It took
me several days to have time to open all the cards and they were such
fun. Many included gifts that were so thoughtful and so appreciated.
You make it a pleasure to serve DFC. Thank you so much.
Next Sunday we will be spending time trying to reacquaint our congre-
gation with the idea of "Faith Promise." It's a very important season for
us because it's when we establish our budget for mission giving for the
next fiscal year. (Our fiscal year runs from June 1-May 31.) I encourage
you to make next Sunday a priority. As we close out our year, there are
some goals that are still attainable and I urge you to join with me in a
commitment to do all that we can to reach them.
And don't forget that our special guest on Mother's Day will be Sandi
Patti. It's going to be a special day of celebration.

Membership Class

Chihuahua Mission
Please pray for the team. The mission trip is April 18-27.
Spring Tea
May 10th at 11:00 am. Brunch will be catered by Canyon Catering
(quiche, scones & fruit). Entertainment provided by Lynn Nauman’s
trio and there will be an encouraging message from Cindy Johnson.
Seats are $8 and there are just a few left. Available in the DFC
Bookstore.
Help Build a Pop Wall!
The Children’s Department is building a pop wall that will supply
the drinks for our Celebrate Kids Day all-church cookout. We are
collecting cases of pop, juice and water. Please bring your
donation to the Children’s office or the Garden Level Welcome
Desk.
Golf Fore Kids Golf Tournament - Youth Fundraiser
Our Annual Golf Fore Kids Golf Tournament is Monday, May 19th at
Pradera Golf Course in Parker, CO. Registration is $150, which
includes golf, breakfast, lunch and a golf shirt. Please go to
www.golfforekids.org to register. We have a limited number of
openings, so register quick! Money goes toward Youth Missions.
