Promising sales results of the original single variant


Strong product encouraged PepsiCo to re-consider
their strategy. Today, Lay's Strong is an
independent sub-line of the global Lays brand in its
portfolio, having three very specific flavours.
The unique and sophisticated recipes entitled Spicy
Chilli, Piri Piri and Devilish Wasabi are extremely
credible and believable. This portfolio is based not
so much on what the flavours are but rather the
intensity and grades of heat which are un-matched
in the market.

Sunbites brand has an international range. Several European


regions adopted the design to their local requirements, while
keeping both the global brand identity and its name as well.
The Polish Sunbites design tells the story of the cereal

stand out from the competition.

Instead of the common XXL flash for big


pack formats, we have created a family fun
story around the Cheetos brand to
communicate product sharing in a more
emotional way and to align the packaging
graphics with Cheetos' new communication
platform.
The flavours and product demo are also
much more exposed in comparison with
the core Cheetos offer, to give extra
impression of fluffiness.

graphic lifting - 2010

To reverse the negative trend, FritoLay Poland decided


to upgrade the StarChips Flat range. Within the
improvement activities SiebertHead was selected to
develop the packaging graphics further.
StarChips consist of 2 ranges of products, flat
and ridged chips in the value market segment.
The ridged chips were cannibalising the flat chips
stronger than expected. Therefore the flat range were
improved in terms of quality (both the product recipe
and its pack graphics).

NPD - design nowej marki

Design graphics creation for an absolutely


innovative shape of cone-like crisps. The
design explains a new form of consumption
as the mini cones give the possibility of
eating with dips, sauces and crme fraiche.
The dominant brand holding device refers to
the shape of the product and at the same
time guarantees the block effect on the
shelf and clearly distinguishes Twistos
Bugles from regular chips and extruded
products.

Chio - Chio X-treme


NPD

In the 90s Intersnack appointed SiebertHead to


create a design for a new product that would be sold
across Europe under the Chio brand.
The new product name was to be called X-treme
to suggest that the crisps were both big in flavour
and size. The new design portrayed the flavour
impact of the new product, to its maximum, with
the creation of lively product characters.

So far, Felix was perceived as the nuts


brand expert and was introducing
products, line extensions related only to
them.
Intersnack decided to enter the category
of typical snacks directed to the young
target and appointed SiebertHead to
create a design for the new salty sticks
line under Felix umbrella brand.

The analysis of competition shows, that the


designs mainly base on tradition and baking
aspects (Lajkonik, Beskidzkie, Lubella etc.),
therefore they do not differ too much.
The new concept of Felix salty sticks is based
on one of the most important to young target
aspect - the music.

Ferrero Russia & Europe - Raffaello


Brand & packaging re-design

Raffaello, a non chocolate praline, occupies a key


position in Ferreros brand portfolio, with a large
market share of the confectionery category across
continental Europe.
SiebertHead were briefed to up-date the design,
but retain the key equities of white and red,
femininity and detail. Our approach was to build
upon the graphic elements, bringing them to life
and adding dimension.
The new design has been extremely well received
in its key markets of Russia, Germany and Poland.

Ferrero Russia & Europe - Raffaello


Brand & packaging re-design

The power of detail. The red band is now a flowing


ribbon with the word Raffaello repeated. The oval
holding device has been given a 3D effect and the
logo given more stand out in red, rather than gold,
as previously.
The pattern on the side of the front face has been
replaced with emotive copy describing the product.
And on the side of the pack, we see the ribbon
break and flow into product descriptor copy.

Gift packs

Created specifically for Russia, where gifting is


a huge market during the occasions of 8 March
(Ladies day) and Christmas, these packs for
Ferrero Raffaello and Rocher satisfy the various
requirements of the gifting season at different
price points.
Whereas Rocher is all about gold and
indulgence, Raffaello is very much about
femininity, elegance, lightness and romance.

Revolutionary upgrade of the packaging design


for Poland's most famous export pralines: plum
in liqueur, hazelnut in chocolate and cherries in
liqueur. Creation of new pack formats in the
segment of informal gifts. All variants and
formats were graphically contemporised and
unified in order to build consistent visual identity
on shelf.

forgotten by enthusiasts of chocolate, has been
given a new visual identity.
The umbrella branding is based on chocolateflower-like holding device to ensure brand
standout across a few hundred packaging units.
The Goplana portfolio consists of chocolate
tablets, pralines, candies and many other sweets.

Winterfesh is an international sugar free confectionery


brand deeply rooted in the oral care and breath
freshening platform.
Wrigley CEE required a refresh ;-) of the brand in
order to keep it attractive and relevant for the core
target group.
SiebertHead completed a broad design project that
covered brand visual audit, brand identity re-design,
portfolio visual management, creation of packaging
graphics, product naming, NPD and brand design
guidelines.

Brand Design Guidelines were created in order to


support Wrigley marketers in Central Europe to keep
the brand coherent in terms of visual identity.

Mokate
branding and packaging

Mokate is Nescafes key competitor in the soluble


cappuccino category in Central Europe.
The brand design was unchanged for almost 20 years.
Within this project the brand was re-named Cafetteria
Mokate (our idea) to strengthen its emotional benefits
targeted to a mainstream and economy audience.
Previously Mokate failed in terms of on-shelf brand
standout therefore it has now been given new umbrella
branding and contemporised graphics across all
products and pack formats including cappuccinos,
lattes, 3-in-1 instant coffees, multi-layered yougurt
drinks and hot chocolates.

SiebertHead revamped the graphics resulting in


a stronger focus on taste experience and quality
of recipe. The graphics draw attention to
indulgent pleasure while still retaining an onthe-go offer.

SiebertHead also revitalised the Cup-a-Soup range


for the Russian and Ukrainian markets.
Appetite appeal is boosted through a more realistic
and dynamic presentation of the ingredients and
the green cup as the hero.
Strategically the green colour dominates in order to
differentiate from Nestles Maggi the yellow
competitor.

SiebertHead developed a holistic brand image for


Tymbark, one of the biggest juice brands in Central
Europe, owned by Maspex, one of the top food
manufacturers in CEE.
The new brand identity will be the core for
Tymbarks 360-degree communication in the CEE
Region.
The current brand icon (right) seems to be visually
old-fashioned and does not convey real brand
quality. It also does not communicate successfully
the key brand benefits, either emotionally or
rationally.

structural design for 1.5L

The challenge for SiebertHeads structural


designers was to develop the larger 1.5L PET
bottle in such a way, despite the technical
limitations, as to repeat the technical details of
the already developed 0.5L bottle shape.
Despite the different width of the mouthpiece,
the proportion of other elements of shape and
diameter, and requirements for the centre of
gravity and bottling conditions on the
production line, 0.5L and 1.5L bottles are like
twins.

SiebertHead developed both graphic and structural


designs for Desperados a Tequila flavoured
imported beer for the Polish market.
The project included a 400 ml bottle structure
design, label graphic designs, secondary multi-packs

Heineken, Brau Union, Austria Edelweiss


brand identity creation graphic & structural

We were briefed by Brau Union to redesign the


Austrian wheat beer, Edelweiss, for launch in export
markets around the world. The project encompassed
brand identity (on and off-pack), structural design of
a new bottle, glassware and graphic design.
Edelweiss Snowfresh is a premium wheat beer
brewed in the alps with pure alpine water and added
alpine herbs. The brand has a premium positioning
and is all about the alternative alpine experience
targeted at young, urban consumers, male and
female alike.
The design centres around the alpine origin of the
beer and features an iconic Edelweiss flower using
metallic dark blue, silver and white colourways on
the labelling.
The physical representation of the brand centres
around the 3D mountain range that is embossed
around the bottle plus a deboss of the Edelweiss
flower in the base. This gives a real ownable and
tactile property to the brand.

We were appointed by Carlsberg UK to


re-think mainstream Carlsberg Lager
and premium Carlsberg Export, with the
objective to raise their performance in
a fiercely competitive environment.
SiebertHead's creative solution gave
Carlsberg two strongly differentiated
brands that share the unique heritage
associated with the Danish brewer. The
re-designs assert each brand's unique
values with iconic use of colour and
graphics, that enhance their appeal both
to the traditional beer drinker and to the
style conscious younger consumer.
The project encompassed brand identity,
packaging, and structural redesign of bar
fonts.

SiebertHead created an iconic new identity to be used


on on-trade founts and off-trade packaging, that
repositioned Carlsberg Export, appealing to the style
conscious younger consumer, whilst clearly
differentiating from the mainstream Carlsberg Lager
proposition.
The UK Carlsberg Export fount soon became the
International Carlsberg Lager fount worldwide and
was used also as the Man of the Match Trophy at
Euro 08.
We also developed a compact T-bar version, bottle
structure and graphic branding design for packaging.

SiebertHead also created a slightly adapted


bottle design for the Efes Export range, to be
sold internationally with the key country being
Russia.
This included a more blue colour palette with
added hops and barley in the background of the
emblem as a subtle device. The bottle colour
also changed to green and used a ring-pull cap
to suggest a more international brand.

Efes Zero non alcoholic 330ml bottle


range features a distinctive label shape,
colour coded for varietal differentiation.
Using the existing proprietary bottle
structure designed by SiebertHead, the
aim was to make the Efes Zero non
alcoholic beer graphics look modern,
refreshing and appetizing.
The depiction of the ingredients play a
key part in this, as did the graphic
diagonal split on the label together with
the radiating lines emanating from the
Efes logo.

Heineken Music is the main sponsor of one of the


worlds biggest music festivals Opener Festival that takes place in Poland every year. Among the
stars were: Bjork, Beasty Boys, Bloc Party, Muse,
Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack and Sonic Youth.
Occasional packaging related to the festival was
developed by SiebertHead with full respect to the
design and technical guidelines of the global
Heineken brand.
The project covered primary and some secondary
packaging in 2007 and 2008 editions.
