The application of educational games in teaching and learning activities is a modern
learning method that uses a computer as a media teacher for teaching facilities. Learning
methods such as these can increase the ability of students to understand the material presented by
the teacher, but it also can have personality independent student learning, because students can
do their creativity with computer media provided. Communicative approach is a teaching
language was born aslonguist in the late 1960s to realize that there something wrong in language
teaching at the time. Change occur in the traditional British language teaching using Situational
Language Teaching. Language taught here memperaktekkan structures in activities based on
meaningful situations. This method is considered to not make them verbally confronted with a
situation when they are faced with situations out side the classroom. Similarly, in american
linguistic began to question th theory underlying the stituational language teaching. Grammar in
the Indonesian language is also called grammar, students sometimes confusion when studying
this material, the grammar is one determinant as benchmarks students understand english that
well. Therefor, with the implementations of educaional games grammar using the communicative
approach as a solutions to improve students ability to understand grammar well.

Correction of Abstract
Abstract
This research entitled education game is using a communicative approach to enhance students'
understanding of grammar in grade 7 at SMP N 1 Panguragan. The aim of this research is to
facilitate teachers to teach, pointing and giving pleasure student learning. So that students have
a special attraction to study harder in training their governance. This research used survey
method with descriptive and students in grade 7 SMP N 1 Panguragan as research subjects. The
collection of data used in this research were interviews (interview) after students tried to play
educational games grammar. This research uses three theories, the theory of a Java application
as the main theory as a theory while supporters are sqlite and grammar of English. The result of
this research, Educational game based on the study of grammar, it can increase presentation
students if we compare them before and after using this game.

Introduction
The research had a problem on students who have difficulty to learn the English

language. Delivery of a material given by the teacher according to students are not interesting or
boring thus affect the enthusiasm of students to learn the English language. The methods used
today are still using audio- visual, less provide student interest in learning the English language.
This issue is not without a reason, but due to the limitations of the tools by teachers or provided
by the school.
The aim of this research is to facilitate teachers in teaching. The products produced in
this study alone is expected to steer and provide fun -learning to the students, so that students
may be interested to learn the English language. When the students became interested in English
language so that students can learn to be more active in learning the English language. Students
are also expected to be able to apply the knowledge gained

Literature Review
In this research has three theories, namely Java application, SQLite and Grammar

English. The theory used in this research to create educational games English language grammar.
Education itself has a sense of something that can educate a person or give a lesson. The
educational game has a meaning that is the form of activity that is fun and serves as an
educational tool or didactic.

Theory java application into a major theory in this research, because with this theory
can make a game for a mobile phone or PC. In this research resulted in a game for the PC. In
addition there are major theory, this research has a supporting theory to create an educational
game, the theory is sqlite. Support the major theory is that the English language grammar is a set
of rules governing the composition of structured sentences, phrases and words in the English
language
III. Problem analyzing and Design Program
In this research it conducted research is to analyze the problems of the students when
learning the English language. The students are less interested in learning the English language
because when learning the English language teacher still using audio- visual methods that make
students feel bored. Learning the English language is only done when students are in school,
when at home students do not repeat the lessons given in schools merely doing a job assigned by
the teacher. Actually, students require English language learning method that is interesting and
not boring to make students more interested in learning the English language.
This part explain the methods used to make a game created by researchers. In this
study, the first thing to do in making the game is to make the game interface design. The next
step is the making syntax of the game by using the application netbeans. Then test the game.
Once the game is installed on the PC . To run this game does not need pc specs are high because
this game is very mild .

Implementation-Analyzing
Minimum specification PC to run this game is the Intel Pentium IV processor , 512 MB

RAM , 80 GB hard drive , a CRT / LCD , keyboard , mouse and speakers. In this study
conducted a survey on 7th grade students SMP N 1 panguragan. Educational game English

language grammar can be operated operating system PC with Windows XP , Windows 7 and
Windows 8 / 8.1 . This research was conducted in SMP N 1 Panguragan with sample class 7. In
conducting research, students were told to play educational games grammar within the time
period specified.
The implementation of the research is completed, then the students do a test to measure
how much improvement experienced by the students. Collecting data in this study conducted by
interview. Students are given a question to agree or disagree with the educational game Grammar
for English language learning method. Collecting data is done to measure the success of this
study.

Summary and Suggestion

V1. Summary
Based on the analysis conducted using instructional media educational games can
improve student achievement it with an increase of 50.3 % in the medium category . Grammar
educational game is to be the method that can provide students progress in understanding the
grammar well . This game can also be accepted by the students , based on interviews conducted
63.3 % of students strongly agree with this educational game grammar . Therefore , the presence
of media grammar learning using educational games can be said to be petrified to the process of
improving student learning grammar at class 7 SMP N 1 Panguragan
V2. Suggestion
It would be nice if the game is run by a computer that has a higher specification . As an
instructor should give instructions in advance about the rules and how to play this game , before
the students play. Other researchers can develop this educational game with audio visual better.
Therefore, students can better understand the grammar .
