Preface
BALANCED COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND INNOVATION
Beyers can be described as a well balanced combination of experience and innovation. On the one hand we have Beyers
impressive history, spanning more than a hundred years, which guarantees the extensive experience in the production of
top quality mixtures for pigeons. One of the ways in which this experience is reflected, is in the unique grain cleaning process. Then on the other hand we have innovation too, which hasnt merely given Beyers an impressive history, but has also
resulted in the company still being one of the most prominent players within the pigeon food industry today.
The merger with Dufky meant the innovative Elite Enzymix mixtures techniques, where the enzymes are added to the food to
improve digestion, were now also within Beyers reach. Beyers can also guarantee the continuous optimisation of its products
as a result of its close collaboration with the worlds best in modern pigeon racing.
TOP MIXTURES AND COMPLEMENTARY PRODUCTS BY AND FOR PIGEON FANCIERS
Beyers doesnt believe in working on its products for the pigeon market from the top of its ivory tower. Pigeon fanciers are
employed at various different levels within the organisation, from production to sales and management and these people
can perfectly empathise with modern pigeon racing experiences. Plus the company also boasts some very intensive working
relationships with the absolute top of todays pigeon racing sport, both at home and abroad. Their feedback regarding their
practical experiences with Beyers products allows us to continuously optimise the mixtures and complementary products.
Its essential to continue to react to this valuable feedback, as pigeon racing certainly doesnt stand still, but is, in fact, becoming more intensive and the burdening of pigeons is constantly increasing.
THE PROOF OF THE PUDDING IS IN THE TASTE
This old English saying means that it has to be proved in practice and that is the motto of Beyers. We do not wish to dwell
too long on the fact that we strive for top quality in all of our products, but rather let the products do the talking through
the results achieved by our customers. And not only the single race results, but also the various championships they won.
To make a comparison with cycling; it is not only the sprints that we would like our customers to win, but also the mountain
stages and the yellow jersey. That this is also the case in practice, is demonstrated by the large number of top performances recorded by our customers in recent years, ranging from top race results to National wins and National championships.
Examples of this type of evidence from the practice can be found in the remainder of this brochure.
Of course it all begins with good pigeons, but in a sport that is becoming more intensive; nutrition is becoming more and
more important. Or like the leading Belgian fancier Dirk van Dyck aptly expressed: I never thought that corn could make
that much of a difference until I switched to the mixtures of Beyers.

Introduction
QUALITY IS THE MAGIC WORD FOR ALL BEYERS MIXTURES
The selection of top quality grains, a fourfold cleaning process and well balanced compositions all ensure your pigeons will
never go short of anything. The thorough cleaning process the grains are subjected to in particular is unprecedented.
All the grains in the mixtures are purified separately twice before being mixed, after which the mixture goes through another
cleaning process and finally the process is finished with a good brushing.
Sieving the grains is still very much authentic manual work, as grains are a natural product and every single load will have
different dimensions. The brushing of the grains results in a beautiful and naturally shiny mixture, without the need for oil
to be added.
BALANCED MIXTURES
Its important for the mixtures to be able to satisfy your pigeons needs, which is certainly not a matter of course in case
of heavy burdening. At Beyers we therefore mainly focus on mixtures which allow for maximum absorption of nutrients, in
orderto ensure the pigeons can get as much energy out of as little food as possible. After all, digesting the food also uses
up energy and the time in between races is often quite limited in todays pigeon racing.
Its also important not to just aim for quick success, but to allow the pigeons to achieve good performance levels in the long
term as well. This means the food needs to be compiled in such a way that there are no shortages of anything, ensuring the
pigeon doesnt have a relapse after a number of races. Plus in addition to the diet, its often also appropriate to provide the
pigeons with some extras in the form of complementary products, as done by top fanciers too, in order to allow them to
perform optimally. The top quality Beyers Plus range certainly offers extensive opportunities in this regard.
FEED ACCORDING TO NEEDS
Its very important to react to the individual pigeons needs when feeding them. These needs are dependent on the time of
year and the amount of burdening. When we look at the nutrients in grains, we can see that the basis of all pigeon mixtures
consists of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. The ratio of these nutrients must be tailored in line with the pigeons needs.
The carbohydrates (sugars) always represent the biggest share. The protein content must be higher in the breeding season
and after a difficult race and the fat content must be increased towards the basketing.
So the key to success where feeding is concerned in the first place is achieving the right balance of the mixture. Secondly, the
quality of the grains is of the utmost importance, as pigeons need to be able to get as much energy as they can out of as little
food as possible. The absorption of nutrients from the food is heavily dependent on the quality and cleaning of the grains.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
There is no such thing as the best mixture. The reason for this is that pigeon fanciers all deal with their sport very differently.
They use a variety of completely different systems and the burdening also greatly differs. The question should therefore
always be, which feeding system suits me and my system best. The general rule here should always be to keep it simple.
As Ad Schaerlaeckens has stated, the general rule in todays pigeon racing is that whoever makes the fewest mistakes will
be crowned Champion.
We would like to introduce our products to you in the remainder of this catalogue; we will provide you with recommendations
regarding the products usage, based on practical experiences acquired by successful fanciers. See which method best suits
your system and use it to your advantage to also bring the results of your colony up to a higher level!

Beyers mixtures for pigeons

BEYERS BASIC MIXTURES

Beyers basic mixtures are focussed on good quality grains at a competitive price. The mixtures are
compiled using French Cribbs maize or Plata maize and are available with and without soy. The mixtures are tailored to the pigeons needs in the relevant periods: breeding, racing and moulting.
The Centennium mixtures also make a return in this segment. They were created in honour of Beyers 100th anniversary. A
rest/winter mixture, the specialty mixture Moulting Methionine Active and a trapping mix, which should form part of every
pigeons diet, complete this range.

BEYERS SYSTEM MIXTURES

The Beyers system mixtures are specifically easily digestible mixtures, which can serve as basic food throughout the entire
year and which can be tailored to the pigeons specific needs in combination with other mixtures. Two of these mixtures
have been compiled based on recipes produced by well respected Champions in pigeon racing:
the Dutch top pigeon fancier Wal Zoontjens and the German Champion Gnter Prange. Their systems have been, and
still are, being used successfully right across the world.

BEYERS OLYMPIA MIXTURES

The Olympia mixtures were specifically developed for the German market, but have since their introduction become very popular in other countries as well, e.g. Poland and the United Kingdom. As is the case with the Premium mixtures, the Olympia
mixtures are characterised by the use of small grains, which guarantee maximum absorption of the mixture.

BEYERS PREMIUM MIXTURES

From a quality point of view, the premium mixtures are the supreme products within the Beyers range. The emphasis is on
the smaller types of grain in the premium mixtures, like small Cribbs maize and small peas, in combination with toasted
soy, in order to guarantee optimal absorption of the grains. Whoever opts for premium mixtures opts to never throw
money down the drain again. Plus the composition of these mixtures is of such high quality that we can refer to this as
optimally nutritious. This will allow you to get the very most out of your pigeons qualities.

BEYERS ELITE ENZYMIX

Beyers offers a unique range of mixtures, to which enzymes have been added, with the Elite Enzymix mixtures. These enzymes are 100% natural and completely tasteless and odourless. The enzymes are not activated until after the food has
been ingested as a result of circumstances in the gullet and ensure the grains cell walls are broken down more quickly. This
allows the pigeons to absorb the nutrients more quickly and more efficiently. The subsequent result is threefold:
The pigeon gets noticeably more energy from the food;
The improved digestion results in visibly less and drier droppings;
The digestibility of proteins and crude fibre is noticeably higher when compared to traditional mixtures.
Within the Enzymix range we can differentiate between basic mixtures and premium mixtures, of course always with the
added enzymes. The premium mixtures within the Enzymix range are recognisable by the addition Modern System.

BEYERS BORDEAUX MIXTURES

Through the Bordeaux Mixtures, Beyers offer a quintet of mixtures containing the authentic red Bordeaux maize. For use during the racing season we have the Premium Enzymix mixtures that can be
used as three phase mixtures, but they can also be used separately. For the races in excess of 400
kilometres there is additionally the Long Distance TT. A solid mixture that provides for the needs of
pigeons racing the middle distance, long distance and extreme long distance races. This
mixture can be perfectly combined with the Premium Enzymix mixtures. The newest
member of the Beyers range is our breeding mixture with Bordeaux maize: Breeding
Galaxy.
This unique breeding mixture is characterized by its versatility and a combination of
high protein and fat content.

DELI NATURE BEYERS

Beduco has introduced a line of mixtures for fancy pigeons to the market under the
brandname Deli Nature. These four mixtures are specifically tailored to the needs of
fancy pigeons and are characterised by the same top quality grains and unique cleaning method as the Beyers mixtures for racing pigeons. Experience has also shown us
that many fancy pigeon owners are very satisfied with using Premium Vandenabeele,
Zoontjens Yellow and the Beyers Olympia mixtures.

NUTRITION IN MODERN PIGEON SPORT

As already cited in the introduction, good nutrition is mainly a matter of addressing the needs of the
pigeons. These needs are mainly determined by the burden on the pigeons, including the role played by
weather conditions. Pigeons rearing youngsters have much higher protein requirements than pigeons
that are on widowhood. Pigeons that are raced weekly with increasing distances up to 700 km have a much higher energy
requirement than birds that only race sprint races or birds that are raced bi-weekly. An additional factor in respect of the
burden are the weather conditions. When it is cold the birds need more energy than when it is warm weather. When the
birds frequently have to deal with headwinds, they require a lot more energy than in races with tail winds. In short: the needs
of the pigeons vary depending on the burden and it is up to the fancier to act adequately. The mixtures that we give to our
pigeons must be balanced in such a way that they are responsive to the needs of the pigeons. Pigeon mixes consist roughly
from three primary nutrients: carbohydrates (sugars & starch), proteins and fats. Depending on the needs of the pigeons, the relationship between carbohydrates, proteins and fats vary. The largest share is always formed by carbohydrates.
A breeding mixture must have a relatively high protein percentage, while a mixture for the last days before a race should
contain a relatively high fat content. The tip of the balance is based on the needs of the pigeons and is accomplished by
varying the composition.

Examples of raw materials rich in carbohydrates:

Maize
Because maize is very eagerly eaten by pigeons and is very rich in carbohydrates (65.5%), maize is
widely used in mixtures, especially in racing mixtures. In addition, maize has a lower protein content
(8.1%) and higher fat content (4.2%) than most other carbohydrate-rich grains. There are many different types of maize, such as cribs maize, small cribbs maize, Plata maize, Bordeaux maize and Merano
maize. The species differ in origin, colour and size, but the differences in nutritional values are small.
Three things that are very important in the selection of the maize are the size - smaller maize is easily
digested, especially during breeding - the fibre content and the method of drying. Maize can be machine dried or sun-dried. Sundried maize is called cribs maize. Machine drying is faster and therefore
mechanically dried maize is cheaper than cribbs maize, but the down side is that drying maize mechanically is at the expense of germination.
Wheat
Due to the combination of a high nutritional value, in combination with a low price, wheat forms part
of a lot of mixtures. An average grain of wheat contains 59.5% carbohydrate, 12.4% protein and 2% fat.
In addition wheat is rich in minerals such as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium and
zinc. Wheat is available in several grades ranging from feeding wheat at the bottom to white wheat at
the top end. For our best mixtures we always opt for white wheat, as it is best absorbed by pigeons.
Sorghum
Known as sorghum or dari. Consists of several variations, the white and red ones are the most commonly used in pigeon food. All variants are rich in carbohydrates, have a protein content of approximately 11% and a fat content of 3%. Nutritionally white dari is preferable to red sorghum because of
the more favourable amino acid pattern contained in white dari.

Barley
A grain of barley contains about 59.5% carbohydrate, 11% protein and only 2% fat. Very often barley
is because of its low fat content wrongly seen as a grain to keep pigeons light. Birds, however, can
become heavy due to the fact that an excess of carbohydrates can easily be converted into fat. But
barley contains lots of fibres which makes pigeons feel full earlier. These fibres make barley ideal for
cleansing the bowels. Furthermore, barley is very rich in minerals and trace elements such as potassium, phosphorus and magnesium.

Paddy Rice
Paddy rice is in many ways similar to barley, but plays a more important role for pigeons as part of a
mixture, especially in mixtures for the racing season. Paddy rice provides the necessary fibres for a
proper bowel function, but contains a lower fibre content than barley, allowing a higher absorption
of energy from paddy rice in comparison to barley. The level of carbohydrate content is 75% which is
clearly higher than that of barley.

Oats
Oats are also extremely rich in carbohydrates. They possess a level of 61.5% carbohydrate. Two forms
of oats are used in mixtures, pointed or peeled. Pointed oats is very rich in fibres, but pigeons are not
fussy about it. That is the reason that this form is most suited to rest and winter mixtures. In contrast
peeled oats is very appealing to pigeons. In addition, oats are rich in potassium, phosphorus and zinc.

Buckwheat
Buckwheat is a grain that is very rich in starch and contains a very high percentage (72.6%) of carbohydrate along with 10.4% protein and only 1.7% fat. Buckwheat is rich in potassium, phosphorus and
magnesium. Buckwheat is generally well liked, but there are always birds who dont like to eat it.

Examples of raw materials that are rich in protein are:

Peas
Peas are traditionally the main source of protein in pigeon feed. There are different types of peas, such
as green peas, yellow peas, small green peas, trappers (small yellow peas), maple peas, dunpeas and
winter peas. The protein levels range from 20.4% (yellow peas) to 22.6% (small green peas). Peas are
rich in the minerals phosphorus, calcium and iron and B vitamins. Green peas and small green peas are
also rich in vitamin C. In addition to the nutritional value when using different types of peas there is
also the need for variation in the menu of a pigeon and lastly, the price plays an important role as well.

Toasted Soy Beans

Of all the grains and seeds that we use in pigeon corn, toasted soy beans are the richest in protein.
Toasted soy beans contain a protein level of 36% and a fat level of no less than 19%. Toasted soy beans
are also rich in the B vitamins and vitamin C and minerals. Despite all these good qualities we should
be careful with the dosage of toasted soy beans, since its absorption is limited by pigeons. Experience
has taught us to use a guideline of a maximum of 10% in breeding mixes and up to 7% in sports mixes.
Mung beans (mung beans)
This distinctive small green seed belongs to the family of the soy bean. It is very rich in protein (23,1%),
is well absorbed by pigeons and germinates very easily. Unlike soy beans, mung beans is very low in
fat (1,2%).

Examples of seeds which are rich in fats are:

Cardy (safflower)
These fruits of a thistle-like plant are especially popular in mixtures because of the high fat content
(27,8%) and also because pigeons like to feed on cardy. Like most other rich in fat grains and seeds,
cardy is not only rich in fat but also rich in protein (14,3%). Cardy contains a high content of healthy
fatty acids (linoleic and linolenic acid) and a high content of lysine. The amino acid pattern is especially
advantageous due to a high content of arginine.
Hempseed
The seeds of the cannabis plant, which are extremely rich in fat (33,5%) and contain high protein values (22,7%). Hempseed is gladly fed to the youngsters and does contribute to the perfect growth of
the youngsters. Moreover, hempseed is known to stir up the mating instinct in pigeons. In racing and
moulting season, hemp seed is a perfect source of fats.

Sunflower seeds
Sunflower seeds are extremely rich in fats and proteins. They can be processed in
two forms in mixtures, unpeeled (striped) and peeled. Striped sunflower seeds contain 29,8% raw fat and 15% raw protein, but contain a much higher level of fibres
than peeled sunflower seeds. Peeled sunflower seeds contain no less than 44,5%
raw fat and 27,5% raw protein. Due to the lower fibre level and the higher levels
of fat and protein values it is recommended to use peeled in stead of unpealed
sunflower seeds in rich in fat racing mixtures, which are fed the last few days prior
to basketting the birds. Contrary, in moulting mixtures for example the striped sunflower seeds are
perfectly suitable to use in contrast to the peeled version.
Black rapeseed
Black rapeseed is a small, almost black seed containing a fat percentage of 40,5% and a protein level
of 20%. Pigeons love to eat rapeseed and due to the extensive breeding of rapeseed, there is also no
question more of the negative effects that rapeseed had with high dosages. The anti-nutritional substances that were found naturally in rapeseed were declined and digestibility reduced to zero by the
development of so-called double-zero varieties.
Linseed (flax seed)
The seed of the flax plant is extremely rich in fat (35,6%) and protein (21%). Linseed contains a high
quantity of omega 3 fatty acids, essential for the structure of the feathers. Hence the reason that we
often see linseed used in moulting mixtures.

Sesame seed
Sesame seed is enormously rich in fat (42,9%) and above that rich too in minerals like, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, copper and zinc. Sesame seed is rich in unsaturated fatty acids
and is gladly eaten by the pigeons.

White Perilla
White perilla is a fairly sweet seed, which is grown primarily in East-Asia. White perilla contains roughly
about 42,5% raw fat and 24,4% crude protein. Because white perilla, compared to many other high-fat
grains and seeds, has a relatively low crude fibre content, the energy value is relatively high.

Premium grains
In short it can be said that the higher the work load of a pigeon is, the more important the corn becomes. Since the digestion
of grain also costs energy it is of immense importance to acquire as much energy as possible from a minimum of corn. That
is why our best mixtures (Premium and Modern System) contain only top quality (i.e. extra red sorghum and extra white dari)
and predominantly small grains and seeds. On the one hand to optimize the absorption and on the other hand to limit the
raw fibre content. That is why we use for example small green and yellow peas along with the small cribs maize.

BEYERS
ZOONTJENS YELLOW

THE IDEAL BASIS

Since the thirties of the last century it was Jan Zoontjens who sought better methods in caring for his pigeons. His guideline
was the book named Feeding, vitamins and pigeons by Arie van den Hoek, and based on this idea he proceeded to sieve
through the pigeon feed mixture of the time. He fed them small seeds and grains early in the week and the larger grains,
consisting of various sorts of maize and legumes in the final days before basketing. His love of the sport and his knowledge
about feeding was passed on to his son Wal that continued the chore of building a successful colony of pigeons.
In particular in the nineties, the Zoontjens pigeons were hard to beat. In the CC Tilburg between 1985 and 1998 no less
than on 12 occasions the 1st un-nominated overall championship was won along with nine times the 1st nominated overall
championship title. In the very strong ZNB it was Wal that won the 1st YB title in 1993, 1st un-nominated champion one day
long distance in 1994, 1st nominated overall champion in 1995 and 1st un-nominated champion one day long distance in
1996. Although the great desire to win has faded, Wal still was capable of winning some Federation championship positions
in recent seasons. In 2012 he was crowned 2nd Champion YBs Federation 2, Brabant 2000, following the achievements
of the previous year winning 8th Champion and 9th Ace Pigeon One Day Long Distance.
In 1989 the contact between Wal Zoontjens and Staf Theeuwes led to the commercialization of both the mixture of small
grains as the mixture of coarse feed under the names Beyers Zoontjens Yellow and Zoontjens Blue. In a joint venture with
the Beyers firm the mixtures were modified qua nutritional value to the needs of the time, without, however, losing sight of
the basic idea. But time has not stood still and the demands of modern pigeon sport have changed immensely since 1989.
Surely for the lofts that race their pigeons every week, alternately between middle distance and long distance. It was therefore in consultation between Wal and the Beyers firm decided in
2011 to withdraw Zoontjens Blue from the market and to replace
it in the feeding plan by the more rich in fat Premium Super Widowhood in combination with Premium Super Energy. The combination of Zoontjens Yellow and Premium Super Widowhood
(for the middle- and long distance supplemented with Premium
Super Energy) ensures that the birds are able for a greater burden
and allows them to be raced in the week between the two weekly
long distance races. Also for the discipline of the extreme long
distance the Zoontjens Yellow mixture is an ideal basis in the
feeding scheme. It is a perfect mixture for the rest period between
two extreme long distance races and can be used in combination
with the new Long Distance TT.
Many rival companies have made an attempt to copy the Zoontjens
Yellow, but they dont even come close to the original version. The
selection of only the very best grains, perfect cleaning and the ideal balance of the mixture leads to the desired results. Dont
be fooled, but choose the original version, recognizable by the signature of Wal Zoontjens on the label.
Herman van Sande from Vosselaar (BE) is a good friend of Wal and built his own colony with the Zoontjens pigeons. Also in
the field of nutrition he uses the system of Wal. Despite his age and the fact that he races a small colony of pigeons, he still
knows how to record high profile results, like:

BEYERS ZOONTJENS YELLOW

Also for the Dutch miracle men Gerard & Bas Verkerk from Reeuwijk the Zoontjens
Yellow forms an important part of the feeding system. Ideal for the high burden that
the birds of father & son Verkerk have to endure. In the beginning of the week the racing pigeons always get a light mixture composing of Zoontjens Yellow supplemented
with depurative. In the second half of the week the pigeons are fed a mixture of racing
mixtures, consisting of Beyers Soja Cribbs and Prange Grand Prix. In 2013 Gerard &
Bas were once again on top of the game with the highlight without doubt the 1st & 6th
National S2 Chateauroux against 13.512 birds, but also the 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 10th NPO
Chateaudun against 8.855 birds, 4th & 5th NPO Bourges against 7.586 birds and 4th
NPO Argenton against 7.576 birds.
Wolfgang Roeper (Kummerfeld, GER) was in 2012 without doubt the top fancier in German pigeon sport.
He dominated the National championships and was crowned 1st National Champion Middle-Distance,
1st National Champion Long-Distance and 1st National Champion Yearlings. On top of that he had
the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th & 8th National Ace Cock and sent a delegation of no less than six pigeons to
the Olympiad in Nitra. Wolfgang makes frequent use of Zoontjens Yellow in his feeding system. As he
expressed himself: Buyers Zoontjens Yellow has been my favourite for years now. I use it every single
day. Just cannot do without it.
An absolute phenomenon in the Dutch pigeon sport is Harry Winkens from Itteren. In the last fifteen years he was crowned
Overall Champion twelve times of the Federation 4 Limburg and in 2013 he finished second. Harry is an absolute all-rounder, who is able to impress from the sprint
races to the long distance and with both the old birds and the youngsters. In 2012 he
was acclaimed 4th Best Fancier WHZB and in 2011 4th National Champion Young
Birds and he also had the 2nd & 3rd National Ace Pigeon Young Birds. In 2013
Harry added another jewel to his crown by winning the 1st Federation- and 3rd
National Championship Middle Distance.
Harry is a great believer in a light diet and swears by the Zoontjens mixture. Indeed,
during the racing season his youngsters are fed exclusively Zoontjens Yellow, until
they go to distances above 300 kilometres. After that, just like the old birds he switches to Premium Super Widowhood for the last few days before the race.
Marc de Cock from Temse (BE) also puts his faith in
the Beyers mixtures for his pigeons. There is a very important role reserved for the Zoontjens Yellow that is
used as a base mixture. From this base the birds for
the various distances are served up with racing and rich
in fat mixtures, like Premium Super Widowhood and
Super Energy. In 2011 Marc was crowned 2nd National Champion Long Distance, in 2012 he won the 1st
National Zone B Limoges against 3.986 old birds and
in 2013 he added the 1st National Zone B Libourne
against 2.222 yearlings and the 1st Provincial Cahors
against 1.754 old birds to his list of honours.
The well known and very successful vet Dr. Fernand Marin and his son Koen from
the Belgian town of Tielen are absolute fans of Zoontjens Yellow. Their racing pigeons are served the entire week with a mix of 2/3 Premium Super Widowhood and
1/3 Zoontjens Yellow and this manner of feeding allows them to stay up with the
strong rivals in the Hafo Turnhout and regularly beating them, despite the very long
working hours of Fernand. In 2013 amongst others they won: 1st Angerville 645 old
birds (25/05), 1st Angerville 596 old birds (01/06), 1st Melun 822 yearlings. (22/06)
& 1st Angerville 678 yearlings (06/07).

BEYERS
PRANGE GRAND PRIX

THE INFLUENCE OF THE TOP-SPORTER

Gnter Prange (Meppen, GER.) is an icon of German pigeon sport. His strain that is based on the old strain of Cornelis &
Gerard Koopman in combination with the pigeons of Maurice Delbar, gave him numerous National and Regional titles to
his name. Descendants of his Ringlose, won no less than five times the Gouden Duif Germany (2000-2001-2003-20102011) for him, which makes him the absolute record holder ever.
In his youth Gnter was a very good boxer and the influences he had from the top sport were used in his approach to pigeon sport. Gnter is very well aware of the influences of diet on the performances and that knowledge is expressed by the
mixture that he, and Beyers put on the market, known as Prange Grand Prix.
Beyers Prange Grand Prix is a unique mixture, high-quality, versatile and extremely rich in nutrients, ideal for the modern
pigeon racing. The mixture contains no less than 21 different ingredients, including 25% maize (cribs maize and small cribbs
maize), 9% hemp and exclusive seeds like quinoa and sesame seeds. With a crude protein content of 14,51% and a crude fat
content of 9,82% Prange Grand Prix offers you the opportunity to get the very best out of your pigeons.
Dirk van Dyck from the Belgian town of Zandhoven is without doubt one of the best fanciers
in Belgium. Having set a blazing trail along with his father Louis in the eighties and nineties of
the last century with their toppers like the Rambo and the Kannibaal, at the beginning of
this century it all went rather quiet by his standards. Until one fine day he bumped into Ludo
Wille of Beyers and let himself be convinced to make the switch to the mixtures of Beyers. Dirk
is absolutely convinced that this step partly contributed to his current successes. We will let
him do the talking about his system. On arriving home the pigeons are fed a hearty mixture
consisting of 50% Premium Brilliant and 50% Prange Grand Prix. The next two days followed
by a light mixture consisting of 50% Zoontjens Yellow and 50% Elite Enzymix Recup. After
that the preparation commences for the next race beginning on the Tuesday morning with
50% Prange Grand Prix and 50% Zoontjens Yellow and on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning they get 100% Prange Grand Prix. On the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning its 50/50 Prange Grand Prix and Premium Brilliant on
the menu. The last feeding they get before racing is Thursday afternoon and consists of Brilliant complemented with peeled
sunflower seeds. This system ensures that my pigeons keep their appetite right up until the race, whereas in the past I had
trouble with the widowhood cocks losing their appetite.
His list of honours in recent seasons is without doubt very impressive by winning some of the following titles:
Winner Gouden Duif Belgium 2011
1st Overall Provincial Champion KBDB Antwerp 2011, 2012 & 2013
2nd National Champion Short Middle-Distance KBDB 2011
3rd Belgian Olympiad Pigeon Category A. Nitra 2013
4th National Champion Sprint KBDB 2011
4th National Champion Yearlings KBDB 2012

6th National Ace Pigeon Short Middle-Distance Yearlings KBDB 2013
8th National Ace Pigeon Sprint Young Birds KBDB 2013
12th National Champion Sprint Young Birds KBDB 2012
In 2013 Dirk was once again in full swing, in particular on his two favourite disciplines, the sprint and the middle-distance.
And in 2014 he finally added the only missing jewel to his crown, a National victory, on National Bourges against 10.141
yearlings.
Marc and Maria Vereyken-Gommers from Schilde (BE) read an article in pigeon magazine De Duif surrounding the winning of the Gouden Duif Award of Dirk van Dyck in 2011. Following this article, they
decided to take over this feeding system and it led straight to success, with the victory in the opening
classic of the Belgian middle distance season, Inter-Provincial Vierzon against 6.257 old birds. Followed
by the 2nd National Argenton against 22.334 yearlings and the 9th Provincial Championship Greater Hafo
KBDB Antwerp. Also in the 2013 season Marc and Maria were really op top by winning the 11th National
Championship Heavy Middle-Distance Old Birds KBDB.

16

BEYERS
PRANGE GRAND PRIX

Like numerous other successful German fanciers, August

& David Balk from Monchengladbach also rely on the
Prange mixture, and when the racing requires it at distances above 400 kilometre they combine it with Beyers
Long Distance TT. The use of the Beyers mixture has
not disappointed the father-son partnership in any way.
In 2010 they represented Germany at the Europa Cup,
to follow that up a year later by winning the 1st National
Bourges against 13.673 birds. In 2012 once again they
were successful winning 10th position in the National
Championship Long Distance.
Another leading German fancier, Theo Lehnen from Nettetal, uses Prange Grand Prix when feeding his pigeons.
He firmly believes that the Prange mixture contributes
considerably to his achievements. Achievements, which
are many to be mentioned here. We will therefore limit it
to the National championships.
In 2011 he was crowned 5th National Champion Yearlings and in 2012 3rd National Champion Middle-Distance. He also had the 5th National Ace Pigeon.
The leading Dutch partnership of Vredeveld-Leemhuis is extremely successful with Beyers Prange Grand Prix, that
they mix early in the week with the easy
to digest Beyers Elite Enzymix Modern
System Recup and Beyers Zoontjens
Yellow. In 2012 Harm, Robert & Chantal
had the 3rd National Ace Pigeon Young Bird NPO and performed brilliantly in the
NPO races by winning amongst others the: 15th-16th-17th NPO Clermont against
10.037 b., 8th-9th-24th-27th-28th NPO Orleans against 6.566 b., 12th-25th NPO

BEYERS PREMIUM
VANDENABEELE

RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

It is now some 20 years ago that Gaby Vandenabeele turned to Staf Theeuwes of Beyers with his
ideas about forming his own mixture for pigeons during the racing season. The mixture needed to be
easy to digest and low-protein. In contrast a mixture that was rich in carbohydrates and fats. The
result was a mixture of high-quality grains, based on the principle paddy rice-white sorghum-safflower and with a high content of small cribbs maize, which guarantees a perfect absorption.
The success of the mixture soon became very clear. In the first place in the loft of Gaby himself,
where straight away in 1995 two National victories were recorded from Limoges and Brive, followed
later on by National wins from Bourges and Argenton and to add to that more than 80 Provincial
victories.
But nowadays Gaby Vandenabeele is still one of the front runners. For example have a look at
the result from National Brive 2013. Six yearlings were sent and they recorded the following positions 15th, 17th and 18th against 6.831 birds. Five old birds entered and that resulted in the
14th and 25th against 8.337 birds. Or even Provincial Bourges, racing against 1.661 yearlings
he began with the 2nd, 4th and 5th. The icing on the cake of the successful 2013 season was
the title of 1st National Ace Pigeon Yearling Long Distances KBDB. In 2014 he added another
National victory to his rich prize list, winning 1st National Tulle 5.731 b.

tein 10,74%, crude fat 8,49%, crude

there is always Premium Vandenabeele on the menu. On arrival home egg food is added for the
0,35%, phosphor 0,23%, methionine
necessary proteins after the race and the final days before a race cribbs maize, peeled sunflower seeds
0,17%, calcium 0,03%
and hempseed is added. For the remainder of the year Gaby relies completely on the mixture of Beyers
Premium. Premium Super-Breeding for breeding purposes and Premium Super Moulting for the moulting period.

But the name Vandenabeele stretches a lot further than the area Dentergem in the contemporary pigeon sport. Gaby has contributed
to the sport in three manners for the achievements in many other lofts. Through his pigeons, that are winning all over the world. By his
mentorship, that helped fanciers like Rik Cools, Geert van Renterghem and Bert van den Berghe, to improve in the sport. And by means
of his mixture, that forms the basis of the feeding system in numerous lofts during the racing season.
By Rik Cools from Ruiselede (BE) all three of these matters come together. The basis of his current successful colony is built mainly on the Vandenabeele pigeons. Not only did Gaby help him with good pigeons, but also always supported him with advice and assistance. And also in the loft of Rik it is the Vandenabeele mixture that forms the basis of the feeding system. In contrast
to Gaby Vandenabeele that only races cocks on the widowhood system, Rik is the master of the discipline of racing hens
on widowhood. Another difference is that Riks pigeons, in contrast to those of Gaby that are raced fortnightly, are raced
weekly. For that reason Rik supplements the Vandenabeele mixture not only with the rich in fat mixture of Premium Super
Energy, but he also combines it with the Premium Super Widowhood mixture. After selling his old pigeons three years ago Rik is back at the
very top, winning in 2013 the 4th National Championship Heavy Middle Distance KBDB and the 10th National Ace Pigeon Yearlings Heavy
Middle-Distance KBDB.
The same goes for Geert & Annick van Renterghem from Deinze (BE). They also knocked on the door of Gaby for
pigeons and were very lucky. Not only did they find good pigeons in Dentergem, but also an excellent mentor. Thus
not strange, that they put their trust in the Vandenabeele mixture as well. Geert & Annick race their yearlings on total
widowhood and their old cocks on traditional widowhood of which the partners stay at home. The feeding system
can be compared to that of Rik Cools, but in their effort to increase the variation, Geert & Annick also make use of
two other Beyers mixtures: Zoontjens Yellow and Super-diet.
Bert van den Berghe from Wortegem-Petegem (BE) is simply the revelation of Belgian pigeon racing of the last three
years. What else can we say about a fancier that only started racing on his own about four years ago and with a small
team of birds he realized the following achievements: 1st National Gueret against 9.815 yearlings in 2014, 1st National
Agen against 5.799 old birds in 2013, 2nd National Libourne against 6.646 old birds in 2013, 3rd National Poitiers
against 13.135 yearlings in 2013, 3rd National Libourne against 7.958 yearlings in 2012, 4th National Limoges 14.263
old birds in 2013, 4th National Libourne against 7.958 yearlings in 2012, 8th National Chateauroux against 15.902 yearlings in 2012

and 9th National Limoges against 14.263 old birds in 2013. When he started three years ago, he
went to see two of Belgians leading fanciers: Marc Pollin and Gaby Vandenabeele. The latter was
found to be an excellent mentor and he followed the feeding system of Gaby completely. Premium
Vandenabeele, the last few days before racing complemented with rich in fat seeds and grains.
Rudy Desaer from Ruiselede (BE) is also a great supporter of the Vandenabeele mixture, that he combines with Premium Super Widowhood and to which he adds some
Premium Super Energy for the necessary fats the last few days before basketting. After
winning the National Champion Long Distance title in 2010 along with his father Antoine, he was the absolute star fancier in Belgium from the long distance in 2012 winning
the 1st National Limoges against 13.789 old birds, 1st National Souillac against 7.756 old birds and 4th
National Tulle against 10.251 yearlings. But in 2013 Rudy had another great run of results including: 1st Provincial Tours against 1.852 yearlings, 2nd National Brive against 8.337 old birds and 10th National La Souterraine against 11.236 yearlings. In 2014 again he won a 1st National, 1st National Cahors against 7.140
old birds. Furthermore he is the main candidate to become National Champion Long Distance once again.
Johny Jonckers from Drieslinter (BE) is without doubt one of the best middle-distance fanciers of Belgium. In 2011 he was crowned 1st National Champion Heavy
Middle-Distance and 3rd National Champion Yearlings and in 2012 once again
3rd National Champion Yearlings. In 2013 he added to that the 11th National
Championship Heavy Middle-Distance to the previous. With the descendants of his top breeder Little
Joe he is still to be found in the top of the results, like the Fado, 6th National Ace Pigeon Middle
Distance 2011 and the 801/09, 1st National Ace Pigeon Cat. C Long Distance Europacup 2012
and 1st National Zone C Argenton 2012. In 2013 a son of Little Joe won the 1st Interprovincial
Argenton against 3.286 old birds. For his widowhood cocks Johny has the greatest trust in the system
of Premium Vandenabeele Premium Super Widowhood Premium Brilliant.
The exact same system is to be found at another middle-distance specialist
from Flemish-Brabant, Albert Derwa from Herent (BE). Derwa also swears by
the triplet system of Premium Vandenabeele, Premium Super Widowhood
and Premium Brilliant. Originally he made his name as a young bird specialist
but is currently a topper with the old cocks and hens on widowhood. Motivation is his specialty and
with the descendants of his Paulien, 8th National Ace Pigeon Heavy Middle Distance 2007, he
now belongs to the elite fanciers of Belgium. In 2011 1st National Champion Yearlings, in 2012
with two sons of his Paulien 1st and 2nd National Ace Pigeon Cat. D Alround Europacup and he
represented Belgium at the Olympiad 2013 in the Slovenian Nitra. In 2013 a daughter of Paulien
won the 1st Provincial Gueret against 1.431 yearlings, while a grandson won the 1st National
Issoudun against 16.587 young birds. On top of that Albert once again placed himself among the
National champions with the 4th National Ace Pigeon Heavy Middle-Distance Yearlings KBDB.
The Dutch long distance specialists Jeroen Braad and Cees de Joode from
Woudrichem also use Premium Vandenabeele in their feeding system. They
combine it with Premium Super Widowhood, Premium Super Energy and
Sport Soy Cribbs. Their racing system is fully comparable to that of Vandenabeele himself; cocks on traditional widowhood that are rested in the weekend
between two long distance races. Their complete trust in the Beyers mixture has been rewarded,
when one observes the numerous early prizes in NPO races.
The partnership of the Brothers Kat & Son from Westzaan in the Province of Noord-Holland (NL)
switched to feeding Beyers a few years ago after visiting the exposition in Houten. They chose for the
system of Premium Vandenabeele Premium Super Widowhood, supplemented with the rich in fat
mixture of Premium Brilliant the final days before basketing. Although they have been racing at a
high level for years now, this feeding method appeared to give that little bit extra. In 2012 they were
acclaimed 1st Un-nominated Champion Long Distance in Federation 6 Noord-Holland and their
bird named Pirlo became 2nd National Ace Pigeon Long Distance TBOTB, 3rd Best Cock WHZB
and 6th Best Long Distance Pigeon WHZB. Again in 2013 they had a strong season at the middle
and long distance races winning series like 7th and 8th NPO Morlincourt against 6.119 birds.

BEYERS PREMIUM
KOOPMAN

THE MIXTURE THAT CONTINUES TO AMAZE

The joint venture between Gerard Koopman and Beyers has been extremely successful and his all-round
mixture named Premium Koopman All in One is one that hit the bulls eye. Premium Koopman is a solid
mixture that arose from the practical experience of Gerard and is composed of no less than 25 high-quality ingredients, that can be digested easily. The unique ingredient is of course the Goldcorn, which contains animal protein and fats from egg yolk, cheese, milk and sheep fat. The best proof for the success
of the mixture is the growing number of fanciers that have had success with it and not only in the one
day and overnight long distance races but also in the sprint and middle-distance races. Of course
the name bearer of the Koopman mixture, Gerard Koopman himself is convinced for 100% about
the Koopman mixture and Gerard is without prejudice one of the top fanciers in Dutch pigeon
sport. In January 2013 he was once again present at the Olympiad in Nitra, with the 3rd Dutch
Olympiad Pigeon in Cat. C Long Distance. In the 2013 season he again made the headlines
with some brilliant series and numerous Teletext listings, like 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and
8th NPO Breuil le Vert/Clermont, 6th NPO Limoges and 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 9th NPO
Sens.
John van Heel (Maria Hoop - NL) has been one of the best
fanciers for years in the area of Middle-Limburg and in 2012
he was also one of the absolute
toppers on a National level. With a
small team of pigeons(maximum 16
widowhood cocks), that are fed the
entire season with Premium Koopman, he was crowned 2nd Best Fancier of the Netherlands WHZB, earned two Teletext listings
(1st NPO Lorris against 14.948 b. 3rd NPO Bourges against 10.375 b.) and he had
in his Olympic Jo the 1st Dutch Olympiad Pigeon Cat. H at the Olympiad in Nitra. In 2013 John again performed at a
high level, achieving several top results, among which the 7th NPO Montluon.
The renowned Belgian duo of Jo and Raf Herbots from Halle Booienhoven were present at the Olympiad in Nitra as well.
They had the best Belgian pigeon in Cat. H Old Birds. Jo and Raf put their trust during the racing season also in the Koopman mixture, which they combine with Beyers Premium Vandenabeele. On arrival home there is 100% Premium Koopman
on the menu for the birds, followed the day after by 50% Premium Koopman and 50% Premium Vandenabeele. After that
there are two days of 100% Premium Vandenabeele and they work towards the end of the week from fifty/fifty to finish up
with 100% Premium Koopman. Their Olympiad trip to Nitra, was followed up at the end of 2013 by another high point with
the 1st & 5th National Ace Pigeon Small Middle-Distance Yearlings KBDB and the 9th National Ace Pigeon Heavy Middle-Distance Old Birds KBDB. In 2014 they won 1st National Argenton against 4.651 yearlings.
Another Olympiad delegate who relies on the power of Premium Koopman is Frank Kwekkeboom from Enschede (NL). His
Olympic Belg was the 2nd Dutch Olympiad Pigeon Cat. E Marathon at the Olympiad in Nitra. But also from the shorter
races Frank is well capable of representing himself with the help of the Koopman mixture.
A similar story for Danny de Voogd from Yerseke (NL), in 2013 he was extremely successful winning: 1st, 2nd and 3rd NPO Ruffec and 4th and 5th NPO Orleans in Federation 1 Zeeland. While the
brothers Andr and Bert Leideman from Hardenberg (NL) are extremely satisfied with the Koopman
mixture as well and in 2013 they were again very successful winning: 1st and 2nd NPO Orleans and
5th NPO Salbris in Federation 10, Noord Oost Nederland.
The same goes for Dirk Pals from the Dutch town Bovenkerk where the Premium Koopman mixture
is always on the menu.
Dirk has been one of the leading National fanciers from the overnight long distance for years, but in 2012 he had an amazing
season winning: 1st National S2 Bergerac 5.091 b., 1st National Ace Pigeon Marathon Afternoon Liberation NPO and
3rd Best Marathon Pigeon WHZB.

24

Beyers Premium
Koopman

The father/son partnership of Dolf & Ruud Bakker

is one of the most successful long distance lofts in
recent years. They did not only acquire good pigeons in Ermerveen, but they also got some very
good advice and the feeding system of Gerard.
Some of their best results are: 1st Northern Union
Blois 13.898 b. 2011, 1st Northern Union Zone
Blois 9.574 b. 2012, 1st, 2nd & 4th NPO Mantes La Jolie 5.965 b. 2013, 1st NPO Zone Salbris
2.025 b., 2nd NPO Blois 8.482 b. 2011, 2nd NPO Bourges 7.356 b. 2011, 4th
Breteuil Federation 7 Midden-Nederland 20.797 b. 2011, 7th NPO Tours 5.812 b.
2011, 8th NPO Chateauroux 3.604 b. 2013 and 10th NPO Tours 5.812 b. 2011.
One of the absolute overachievers of the extreme long distance in the Netherlands in recent seasons is without doubt Arjan Beens
from Genemuiden. Now Arjan has the Koopman mixture 365 days of the year on the
menu. Not only during the racing season,
but also during the breeding season, due
to the fact that Goldcorn is a source of high
quality animal protein, also in the breeding
season it brings an absolute added value.
Solely in the rest periods does Arjan lighten
the mixture using paddy rice or barley, while in the run-up to an overnight long distance race it is enriched with the high-fat
Beyers Super Energy. Arjan has been racing a fairly large team of pigeons on the natural system, but time and time again he records mouth watering series. In 2012 he
displayed that he is capable of performing in both the National and the International
races, with the most striking results being: 2nd National Perpignan 5.616 b., 3rd NPO
Perigieux 3.916 b., 3rd NPO Orange 2.133 b., 5th NPO Aurillac 3.806 b., 5th NPO
Albi 2.465 b. 9th National S3 Cahors 10.399 b. and 15th National Barcelona 6.392
b. In 2013 he was present from the very first races with the top result of 1st and
4th National S3 Brive against 7.061 birds, 5th & 10th National ZLU Agen Old birds
against 6.112 birds and the 9th National S3 St. Vincent against 4.201 birds. In 2014
he crowned his career by winning 1st National Perpignan against 6.413 pigeons.
Another leading long distance fancier that
due the advice of Gerard switched to the
Beyers Premium Koopman is A.P. Overwater from Strijen (NL). He is full of praise for
the feeding system of Gerard and in 2013 &
2014 the pigeons of A.P. proved that it was
the right thing to do by listening to Gerard.
A number of no less than 10 National top
fifty positions were recorded in 2013: 15th
National St. Vincent ZLU 3.294 b., 16th National Pau 3.124 b., 20th National S2 Bergerac
7.655 b., 26th National Narbonne 4.515 b., 26th National S2 Agen 3.746 b., 27th
National Perpignan 4.978 b., 40th National Narbonne 4.515 b., 41st National
Perpignan 4.978 b. 45th National S2 Cahors 5.359 b. and 47th National S2 Bergerac 7.655 birds. In 2014 A.P. won a.o. 1st National S2 Agen 3.599 b. and 8th

For those fanciers who dont want to change their current feeding system, but still
would like to profit from the advantages of
Goldcorn, the pellets are available solely as
well in bags of 5 kg. Goldcorn is to be fed at
a ration of 5% of the feed, so you only use
5 kg Goldcorn per 100 kg of pigeon feed.
Examples of fanciers who have succesfully
added Goldcorn to their feeding system are
the Belgian top fanciers Sebastien Casaert-Senechal (Russeignies), Gevaert-Lannoo (Deinze), Chris Hebberecht (Evergem)
and Vereyken-Gommers (Schilde).

Premium
Mixtures

BEYERS PREMIUM THON SPCIAL

This versatile all-round mixture, a recipe of the Belgian top fancier Jos Thon can
be fed throughout the year with limited addition of other mixes, for example the
Ligois mixture during the breeding season, Elite MS Recup and Long Distance TT in
the racing season and super diet along with moulting intensifier during the moulting
season.
These mixtures seem to guarantee National success. Not only did Jos Thon win two
Nationals (Gueret 2009 and La Souterraine 2012), but National successes in other lofts were partly
due to the Thon mixture.
For example Veulemans-Perilleux from Vissenaken (BE), who have won 1st National Bourges 24.067 b. 2014, 1st National Gueret 2.429 b. 2014, 1st National Zone

and 1st Provincial Chateauroux 591 b. 2013.
But also Marc Vanonckelen from Halen (BE) with the 1st National La Souterraine
13.089 b. 2013, 5th National Ace Pigeon Young Birds KBDB 2013 and 6th National

PREMIUM JAN KEEN SUPERLIGHT

High-quality, versatile and easily digestible all-round sport mixture to the ideals of
the Dutch champion Jan Keen. This mixture can be used for the entire racing program
from the sprint right up to the long distance, as Jan Keen proved in 2011 by winning
the Gouden Duif the Netherlands and becoming 3rd National Champion Long Distance NPO and 6th National Ace Pigeon Long Distance NPO.
His fellow townsman Henk Keizer also proved on many occasions the value of the
Premium Jan Keen Superlight. In 2011 he had the Best Long Distance Pigeon W.H.Z.B.
and in 2013 he won the 1st & 2nd National S4 Morlincourt against 12.197 birds.
Also for Anita & Andr Vogel Van de Pol (Soest, NL) it is the Keen mixture that has
made the difference, winning in 2013 amongst others the 1st NPO Tours Federation
7 Midden-Nederland against 3.406 birds.

PREMIUM TRAPPING MIX EXCLUSIVE

During the National Manifestation in Houten Bas Verkerk & Gerard Reedijk turned up at the Beyers stand with a few questions regarding the composition of the trapping mixture. They had several ideas regarding a possible improvement of the
composition. Given their expertise as top fanciers they put their heads together and a new
treat mix was developed. The starting points for the development were: maximum absorption, greater variety and high fat content. The new mixture was at first tested in the lofts
of the fanciers responsible for starting the process. Both Gerard & Bas Verkerk as well as
Gerard & Elly Reedijk-Jongekrijg were unanimous in their verdict: The new mix fulfilled expectations on all fronts! Top performances in the races followed. Gerard & Bas won amongst
other prizes the 1st & 4th National S2 Chateauroux 13.512 b., 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 10th NPO
Chateaudun against 8.855 b., 4th & 5th NPO Bourges against 7.586 b. and they finished the
season with a fantastic result from NPO Ruffec (750 km): 8th-9th-11th-12th-13th-14th15th-16th-17th-18th-20th-21st-26th-27th-28th-29th, etc. (54/59) against 3.839 birds.
Gerard & Elly also had an exceptional season at all distances from the sprint to the marathon. Several examples: 2nd NPO
Vierzon, 4th, 12th, 28th, 38th & 46th National S2 Chateauroux, 43rd National Pau, 44th National Marseille, 73rd & 98th Nat.
St. Vincent, 93rd National Barcelona, but also 1st Pommeroeul against 2.412 birds & 1st Peronne against 1.898 birds. It
did not take long for other fanciers to catch on to the new trapping mixture of Beyers and they too were provided with some
test bags. All of them were extremely positive about the new mixture:
The Van Wanrooij Partnership (Geffen, NL) repeatedly recorded brilliant results from the races including: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Sezanne
Federation 3 Oost-Brabant against 14.951 birds, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th NPO Pithiviers against 3.372 birds, 2nd & 3rd Epernay
Federation 3 Oost-Brabant against 7.325 birds, 3rd, 9th & 10th NPO Chateauroux against 5.703 birds
and 2nd NPO La Souterraine against 5.281 birds. Highlight of the season was truly the amazing result
from National Youngsters Derby: 1st, 2nd, 5th & 6th Nat. S1 Orleans against 15.815 birds. A stunt
they repeated a week later from NPO Orleans in Federation 3 winning 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th & 7th against
2.842 birds. To top that off, in their favourite discipline, the long distance, they were crowned, 1st
Champion and they had the 1st, 2nd, 8th & 10th Ace Pigeon in Federation 3 Oost-Brabant.
Gaby Vandenabeele (Dentergem, BE) had another marvellous season, especially with his yearlings, winning e.g.: 1st, 6th, 8th
& 9th Provincial Argenton against 727 yearlings, 2nd, 4th & 5th Provincial Bourges against 1.661 yearlings, 10th National
Poitiers against 13.135 yearlings, 15th, 17th & 18th National Brive against 6.831 yearlings and 14th & 26th National Brive
against 8.337 old birds. The absolute pinnacle of the season was however the title
of the National Ace Pigeon Yearlings Long Distance. Gaby too was very positive
regarding the new Trapping Mix Exclusive.
Jos Thon (Niel-bij-As, BE) is always willing to try out something new and was provided with several bags of the new treat mixture. His pigeons loved it too and it played
its part in the immensely successful run of no less than 8 provincial victories.
Alwin Petrie (Brummen, NL) is without question one of the best sprint/middle distance fanciers in the Netherlands. Alwin is regularly in contact with Bas Verkerk and
thats how he discovered the existence of the new treat mix so he demanded to try
it out. Alwin too, who is very critical concerning feeding, was full of praise about the
new treat mixture. After a whole period of haggling over his enforced relocation in
connection with the construction of a dyke, he displayed in the late tour races what
he is capable of: 10/08 Duffel 7.081 b. 12th-15th-16th-17th-20th-22nd-23rd24th-30th-31st-51st-54th-56th, etc. (73/84) 17/08 Wolvertem 6.485 b. 19th40th-56th-67th-70th-78th-79th-84th-90th-92nd-125th-153th, etc. (64/84)
Convinced by the proof experienced in practice we are now proud to present to you our
new treat mixture Beyers Trapping Mix Exclusive. A unique, versatile mixture with a high
fat content. Unique through its addition of white perilla, an extremely energy rich grain,
that is new in mixes for pigeons, and which pigeons love to eat. Versatile by using 13
different grains and seeds, which together guarantee a perfect digestion by the pigeons.

MODERN SYSTEM

THE POWER OF ENZYMES

The Modern System is based on three principles: top quality grains, the addition of
liquid enzymes and simplicity in use. These added enzymes are 100% natural and
completely tasteless and odourless. The enzymes do not become active until after
digestion of the corn, by the conditions in the crop, and ensuring that the cell walls
of the grains degrade faster. As a result, the pigeons take stock of the nutrients
faster and better. The result of this is three-fold: The pigeon noticeably gets more
energy from the food, the digestibility of the proteins and raw fibre is significantly higher than in the case of traditional mixtures and the improved digestion
result visibly in less and drier droppings. Since the digestion of grains also costs
energy, the profit is doubled. Not only do the pigeons get more energy from the
same amount of food, but they also use less energy to digest the food. All of this
make the Modern System the ideal system for modern pigeon racing, in which the
burden on pigeons is constantly increasing. Evidence of this in practice is plentiful.

The power house from the Belgian town of Russeignies, Sbastien Casaert, has
relied for years on the Modern System and on the Beyers Plus
complementary products. At the beginning of the week Recup, in
the middle of the week Build up and the last days prior to racing
Energy. Straight after a very tough race the pigeons receive Build
up instead of Recup. The Modern System has never disappointed
Sbastien: In 2011 he had the 1st National Ace Pigeon Heavy Middle-Distance
and the 2nd National Ace Pigeon Short Middle-Distance. Alongside that he was
6th National Champion Yearlings and he was crowned Superstar Middle-Distance Gouden Duif Belgium. In 2012 he
continued in the same fashion of recording series results and he was 12th National Champion Heavy Middle-Distance.
Again in 2013 he regularly plagued his rivals with brilliant series and he won 6th National La Souterraine against 11.237
yearlings and 6th National La Souterraine against 9.536 old birds. In addition, just like in 2011, he had the 1st National
Ace Pigeon Heavy Middle-Distance and he was 7th National Champion Heavy Middle-Distance Old Birds and 7th National Champion Yearlings Long Distance.
Benny & Karin Steveninck from Hamme (BE) belong without doubt to the best middle distance fanciers of
Belgium. Their Chipo lines are wholesalers of National and Provincial ace pigeons and they constantly are
capable of realizing amazing series in the races, which was once
again illustrated in 2013 by capturing the title of 1st National Ace
Pigeon Young Birds KBDB. Along with that they were crowned 4th
National Champion Heavy Middle-Distance Yearlings. In 2014 Benny & Karin won
1st National Tours against 24.079 youngsters.
Benny and Karin swear by feeding their pigeons with the Modern System.
One the one hand because the added enzymes allow a maximum and accelerated
absorption of nutrients and on the other hand it is a very easy-to-use system. Like
Benny says, the names of the mixtures tell you how to use them: consecutively recuperation, build-up and energy. For the support of the condition and health of
their pigeons Benny and Karin put their trust in the complementary products range
of Beyers Plus.
Luc & Hilde Sioen from Moorslede (BE) allowed themselves to be
convinced by Sbastien Casaert to make the switch qua feeding to
the Modern System. Soon they were convinced surrounding the
quality of the mixtures and particularly liked the simplicity in use.
This was quickly reflected in their results, with as tentative highlight winning the 1st & 4th National Poitiers against 13.135 yearlings in 2013 and
the 1st & 9th National Poitiers against 14.094 yearlings in 2014.

MODERN SYSTEM

The extremely fanatical trio of Gust, Mit and Geert Van Hove-Uytterhoeven from Putte (BE) decided a few years ago to switch to
the Modern System and to the Beyers Plus complementary products. They are very satisfied with the Beyers mixtures and complementary products and not only in the racing season, but also
during breeding and moulting. Using the Modern System they recorded one top
result after the other.
Some examples:

One of the first fanciers in the Netherlands to pick up the Modern System was GertJan Beute from Wilhalminaoord. When Gert-Jan promised himself several years ago
that he do his best to climb up to the absolute top of Dutch pigeon
sport, he not only went in search of good pigeons, but also looking
for a top feeding system. He ended up with the Modern System
and this feeding system contributed to his rush to the top in recent years, which led to two Olympiad pigeons at the Olympiad
2011 in Poznan, the 1st National Ace Pigeon Long Distance TBOTB 2011 and the 2nd Best Long Distance Pigeon WHZB
2011. In 2013 Gert-Jan once again recorded a series of top ten positions in the Federation: 1st NPO Sezanne, 1st, 2nd
& 4th Federation Hapert, 3rd Federation Hapert, 3rd & 5th Federation St. Quentin, 8th NPO Chateauroux and 8th &
10th Federation St. Quentin. In addition, through his columns and lectures Gert-Jan has brought numerous fanciers to a
higher level, partly through his advice about the feeding system. For example Hetty
Hopman from the town of Bunschoten-Spakenburg, who won in 2013, racing only
10 young birds, the 1st Un-nominated Championship Young Birds of Federation
7 Midden-Nederland.
That the Modern System is also well equipped for the extreme long
distance, becomes obvious by the performances of the Dutch duo
Noordam-Vijverberg from s Gravenzande. They race 42 pairs on
the natural system and put their faith in the feeding of these nest
pigeons entirely in the Modern System. The greatest advantage of
this system is that the birds can be fed the Build-Up mixture on the hopper without
them getting fat. Five days before basketing, the Build-up mixture is replaced by
the Energy mixture that is supplemented with a few handfuls of Premium Super
Energy. In 2011 they recorded Federation victories from Bergerac and St. Vincent
and in 2013 they were on Teletext with the 5th National S2 Cahors against 4.577
birds.
Also in Germany the Modern System has been picked up successfully. Heinz Willi
Ritz from Jchen belongs to the top of the German pigeon sport for decades now
and trusts with prejudice the mixtures of the Modern System. SG Pfeffermann from
Fuldatal also relies completely on the Modern System, in 2012 it resulted in them
winning the 2nd Overall Championship Region 453 and delivered the 1st Young
Bird Championship in the Region.

Bordeaux
Mixtures
The Bordeaux mixtures include first of all the Premium Enxymix mixtures. Three mixes for the sports season, which can be
used as three phase mixes, but can also be perfectly used on their own. Bart & Nance van Oeckel from Oud-Turnhout (BE)
use in the beginning of the week Premium Enzymix Relax with Super Diet followed by Premium Enzymix Energy, that is
complemented during the last days prior to basketing for the heavy middle distance with a high fat mixture.
Bart & Jurgen Geerinckx (Wommelgem BE) in contrast choose to feed the high fat mixture of Premium Enzymix Power
instead the last days before basketing. The rest of the week Bart & Jurgen exclusively use Beyers mixtures. On arrival home
Breeding & Sport First Class, a light easily digestible mixture, but very rich in proteins, followed by Wal Zoontjens Yellow
and Prange Grand Prix, to round off with the Premium Enzymix Power.
Other toppers like Peet & Paloma Solleveld (Maasdijk NL) and the Van Wanrooij Partners (Geffen NL) are also extremely
pleased with the Power as a source for the necessary fats prior to races in excess of 400 kilometres. The Power can also be
combined perfectly with the other racing mixture of the Bordeaux range, Long Distance TT. Finally the Bordeaux range also
includes our new breeding mixture: Breeding Galaxy.

BEYERS LONG DISTANCE TT

A relative new mixture in the range of Beyers. Perfect under high burden and distances above
400 kilometre, races with multiple nights in the basket and marathon races, and in particular to
refuel after a tough race. This mixture contains 40% maize (4 sorts: cribbs maize, Plata maize,
merano maize and Bordeaux maize), toasted soy and hempseed. The mixture can be combined,
prior to racing, with the high fat Premium Power Enzymix or supplemented with the high fat
Premium Super Energy. The mixture was developed by the Beyers team Germany and successfully tested by Erhard Pahnke and August & David Balk (Monchengladbach, GER). Father &
Son Balk have been very successful for several years now, winning a.o. 1st National Bourges 2011. In 2012 all did not go
well early in the season, until the Beyers team advised them to use Long Distance TT in combination with Prange Grand
Prix. With this system they finally finished 10th National Champion Long Distance.
In 2013 the mixture was introduced in the market and was soon picked up by a large number of fanciers that were extremely
succesful with it.

BEYERS BREEDING GALAXY

After the successful introduction of Long Distance TT, we decided to use these principles to
develop a brand new breeding mixture named: Breeding Galaxy. A very versatile mix with small
cribbs maize and Bordeaux maize, small peas, katjang idjoe and toasted soy and a wide range
of rich-in-fat seeds such as rapeseed, hempseed, peeled sunflower seeds, linseed and sesame
seed.
Breeding Galaxy combines a high protein level with a high fat content and ensures perfect
growth of the youngsters, who develop a silky soft plumage. Due to the combination of a high
protein and high fat content Breeding Galaxy is also ideal for birds raced on the natural system.

VITAMIN PLUS

This liquid vitamin complex is a scientifically founded supplement to your pigeons food, without any risk of
overdosing. Vitamin Plus will provide your pigeons with the most important vitamins (A-D3-E-B1-B2-B3-B5B6-B12-C-K3) and is particularly recommended during periods of heavy loading or unnatural circumstances,
like the winter breeding season or darkening. Its also a good idea to give your pigeons a vitamin complex after
medical treatments or a vaccination and after a difficult race, allowing them to recover more quickly.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

2 x per week during the breeding season
1 x per week during the racing season
A maximum of 3 to 4 consecutive days after medical treatments or a difficult race

broad range of vitamins (A-D3-E-B1-B2-B6-B12-C-PP-choline and Biotin). This has made Amino Plus ultimately suitable to get your pigeons into shape during the racing season. The presence of sulphur containing
amino acid methionine, combined with all other essential amino acids, means Amino Plus is an excellent food
supplement during the moulting season, when your pigeons will have an increased need for amino acids and, in
particular, sulphur containing amino acids, as they are busy growing their new plumage at this time.

Complementery products
After two years of extensive testing and further development, Beyers presents to you with pride two new complementary
products. These products are geared to the needs of modern pigeon sport, in which the burden on the pigeons grows higher.
Especially where there is a lot of mileage to be raced in a short period of time, like in the new National racing program in
Belgium or the alternation of racing middle distance one week and long distance the following week in the Netherlands, or
the sequence of races with an ever increasing distance in Germany, pigeons do not always have the time to get the required
energy from corn and rely on the addition of complementary products to reach optimal performances. Beyers Plus Recovery
Plus and Condition Plus were developed exactly for this purpose and also tried and tested in this manner.

RECOVERY PLUS

Recovery Plus is a protein preparation designed to help your pigeons recover quickly after a race.
The unique thing about Recovery Plus is the use of guanidine-acetic acid, which speeds up the recovery of the muscles that are affected by racing. In addition to that Recovery Plus contains a wide
range of vitamins (B1-B2-B6-B12-C-E) and minerals (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium) to get your pigeons in top condition as soon as possible for the next race. In support of the
immune system Recovery Plus also contains green tea extract. During breeding Recovery Plus may
be used to provide the high protein requirements of feeding pigeons and their growing youngsters.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
20 gram (1 table spoon) per kg corn
During breeding: once a week
During racing season: once a week (on return home)

NEW

CONDITION PLUS

Condition Plus is a unique condition powder to keep your pigeons in top condition throughout the
year. Condition Plus contains everything your pigeons need to endure the heavy loads of breeding,
racing and moulting without any problems. Condition Plus has a fat content of 20% and contains
lecithin and L-carnitine to also effectively convert these fats. In addition Condition Plus contains a
wide range of vitamins and amino acids. In order to support the immune system of the pigeons yeast
cell walls and oregano have also been added to Condition Plus.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
20 gram (1 table spoon) per kg corn
During breeding: once a week
During moult: once a week
In the racing season: twice a week

NEW

The products do not only look good on paper, but they worked in practice as well,
which is displayed by the results in our test lofts.

URTICA CHLORELLA MINERAL MIX

Urtica dioica

Chlorella
pyrenoidosa
x 1000

Mineral mixture with top quality grit, shells, pebble and clay products, supplemented with plants and oily seeds.
The unique thing about Urtica Chlorella Mineral Mix is the addition of nettle (botanical name = Urtica dioica)
and Chlorella (botanical name = Chlorella pyrenoidosa). The nettle is well known for its blood purifying and anti-allergic properties. It stimulates the separation of acids and waste products from the muscles. Plus the nettle
is also rich in calcium and iron. The freshwater algae Chlorella is well known for its high content of chlorophyll,
which makes it the ultimate form of chlorophyll diet. Plus dried chlorella has a protein content of 60% and the
form of chlorella means its exceptionally easily digestible for the birds. These proteins contribute to your pigeons muscle development. This, combined with the grit and clay products and the small seeds like hemp (rich in
fats and proteins), linseed (rich in fats) and quinoa (rich in iron and magnesium) have resulted in Urtica Chlorella
Mineral Mix being a very versatile product, which should form part of your pigeons daily care and will help you
to keep them in top condition.
