TheaboveformforDarcy'slawissometimesalsocalledDarcy'sextendedlaw,formulatedfor
horizontal,onedimensional,immisciblemultiphaseflowinhomogeneousandisotropicporousmedia.
Theinteractionsbetweenthefluidsareneglected,sothismodelassumesthatthesolidporousmediaand
theotherfluidsformanewporousmatrixthroughwhichaphasecanflow,implyingthatthefluidfluid
interfacesremainstaticinsteadystateflow,whichisnottrue,butthisapproximationhasprovenuseful
anyway.
