Jumaa Prayer

for the Muslims of Africa and beyond

West Africa Advanced School of Theology

February 19, 2016

Intercede for the Muslim World!

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or
danger, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us (Rom. 8:35, 37, ESV)

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

LIBERIA: An alumnus pastoring here writes: Pray for our missionary couple, who are doing tremendously well
planting churches among the Muslims of northern Liberia. Currently they have over 50 Muslim children brought to
the mission station by their parents to be trained! Some of those parents have never come back to even ask about their
kids. They are glad to have the opportunity to lead these children to Christ, but they are challenged with the feeding
and physical care of these children. Please pray that God will provide their needs and give them wisdom and strength
to carry out this worthy work.
In its recent General Council, the Assemblies of God, Liberia, launched a new emphasis on and strategy for planting
churches among those less reached. Many of the areas are predominately Muslim. Please pray that the Lord would
place a burden on the hearts of the men and women He has chosen for these places, that He would prepare them for
the task and pave the way before them.

In the News
The first round of presidential and parliamentary elections in Niger will take place this Sunday, February 21. Pray that
the polling will be peaceful and honest. Pray that, in this time of speculation and tension, Christians in this Muslimmajority nation would have opportunities to speak to others about the true Ruler of all nations.

World Watch List: Nigeria

Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation, ranks 12 th on the list of 50 countries where Christians face the most
persecution. Boko Haram, a radical group with ties to ISIS and al-Qaida, has caused the deaths of more than 20,000
people and displaced 2.5 million. They target mainly Christians and have destroyed hundreds of churches. Intercede
for believers and pastors, particularly in the north and the rural central belt. Pray that the Lord would bless them as
they courageously continue to live out their faith before their oppressors. May Muslim men and women be touched
and drawn to Jesus through their lives. See more information and prayer requests at http://bit.ly/1h0r6xW.

Global Initiative*
Pray for the 100,000 unreached Muslim Digos of Tanzania. These people, many of whom do commerce with Arab
traders, embraced Islam around 1900. However, beyond the adoption of Muslim names and dress, their religious
practices are more animistic, worshiping spirits and ancestors. The New Testament is available in their language,
Chidigo. Very few have accepted Jesus. Please pray that these few would grow in their faith and reach others, that
churches would be established among them. For more about the Digo and prayer points, see http://bit.ly/1onuYmo.

For Muslim Women**

Pray that the worlds female imams will find Jesus. Pray that as they perform their duty of leading prayers, the Lord
would open their eyes to see the One to whom they should be praying!
