MARCH 2016
PEACE SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS
Weve had a drastic drop in attendance during January and February but
are hoping that everyone will be back to learning at Peace Sunday School
soon!
A great big thank you to Sami Wendt, who was our only student present
on February 14th, for helping decorate and deliver our Valentine cookies to
the Barrett Care Center and Rolling Hills Residence. Youre the best,
Sami!
Thank you to Marlene Dreier for giving one hour in February. We still
have 10 open slots for teaching: March 20, April 3 and 17, and May 1st and
17th in the 2-3 and 4-6 grade rooms. Ive been filling in for both classrooms
but sometimes the age difference is too big. Please consider giving ONE
HOUR! Thank you!
Coming up in March we will be learning about The Greatest Commandment, Mary & Martha, and Holy Week. On Sunday, March 13th, after a
short lesson, we will be delivering muffins around the area. If you know of
someone who would love a visit from our Sunday School kids, please call
Joyce and let her know. Thank you.
There is NO SUNDAY SCHOOL on Easter Sunday, March 27th.
Joyce Hanson, Director

On February 24th we are planning a big party to learn how Jesus compares the kingdom of Heaven to a wedding banquet
thrown by a King.
Our students were given the assignment to perform Random
Acts of Kindness and we are anxious to see how well they did!
Heather Danner and Joyce Hanson, Teachers

Pastors ReportInterim Update; Call Committee. Pastor Don has signed the proposed agreement.
Waiting for a response from the Synod. Have not received a lot of feedback. Waiting for Bishop to sign
the agreement. Anticipated to have Pastor Don begin February 1 for a period of one year with the agreement can be ended early by either party. Synod suggests not forming Call Committee until interim has
been in place but we feel we should be proactive and proceed. For Call Committee developed a list of
congregation members to ask if they will serve. Marilyn and Tom will call persons from the recommendations.
