aluminosilicates) with small & uniform pores,
having precisely defined diameter of molecular
dimensions.

Air & Gases.
High Resistance To Catalytic
Poison.
High Thermal Stability.
Very Large Internal Surface Area.
High Quality, Safety and
Performance.
CHEMISTRY
Formula for zeolite molecular sieves is
M2/nO Al2O3 xSiO2 yH2O.
Where M is a cation of n valence. These
crystals are characterised by a three
dimensional pore system.
The corresponding Building Blocks of
Molecular Sieve crystallographic structure
is tetrahedral where four oxygen anions
surrounding a silicon or aluminium cation
(AlO4) and (Sio4).
ADSORPTION
The zeolite is responsible for the
physical adsorption rather than
chemical adsorption of molecules.
Zeolite molecular sieves retain
adsorbates on the surface by strong
physical forces.
Adsorption increases with the partial
pressure of the adsorbate. Unlike
other adsorbents, zeolites have a high
adsorption capacity at low partial
pressures.
Adsorption capacity decreases with
increasing temperatures, but zeolites
drying efficiency is active up to 100C,
when the adsorbent reaches the level
of saturation, after that no future
adsorption occurs.
Adsorbents are now subjected to
regeneration mode to regain their
power of adsorption.

MOLCAT ADSORPTION
EFFICIENCY
The isobar plotted explains Molcat performance over various operating
temperatures.
The bold solid line assumes the use of completely regenerated
adsorbents.
The thin solid line shows the effect of two percent residual water at the
start of adsorption on molecular sieves.
When drying stream at high temperatures, Molcat are used effectively.
Molcat are the only adsorbents that remain effective under very hot
conditions.
Molcat have 14 weight-percent of Water adsorbed capacity at (200 F )
93 C.
Other Adsorbents have very Little or no water adsorption capacity at
(200 F ) 93 C.
For bulk separation of water, silica and alumina type adsorbents are
used.
After bulk separation, Molcat are preferred to achieve very low dew
point levels.
