Game Commentary
Submitted by Doug Klein: The forward tandem of Carolyn Simon, Brandi Farley and Jenna Howerton combined for all the goals in Pine Creek's
8-1 Colorado Springs Metro League win over challenger Sand Creek.

The young, feisty Scorpions put an early scare into the host Eagles by scoring just a minute and a half into the game when Sand Creek senior
captain, Kayla Fortner, sent a hard low shot toward the net; a lunging Pine Creek defender failed to get a clean touch on the ball which redirected
past keeper, Carmen McDermott (1GA, 1SV, 80 Min).

After that Sand Creek freshman goalkeeper, Bri Pratt was put to work. She faced 28 Pine Creek shots on goal, stopping 19 of them and her defense
cleared another out of the 6-yard area.

The Eagles opened their portion of the night's scoring when Senior, Carolyn Simon, put in a header off a Shannon Kelly corner kick. Simon went
on to complete her hat trick pushing her team leading goal total to 15 on the season.

Teammate Farley also recorded a hat trick while Howerton added a pair of tallies.

The Eagles travel to Garry Berry Stadium Tuesday night for a 6 pm kickoff against the host Terrors of Palmer. Pine Creek will look to maintain
the co-lead in the conference (9-2-0 overall, 4-0-0 league) while Palmer is looking to qualify for the playoffs (6-4-0 overall, 3-2-0 league)
