April 2010 Club Meeting

4/14/2010

Meeting called to order 6:47pm

Board Members Present: Tobi Madden, Sophia Cronk, Robbie Frakes, Stacey Klitzing, Denise Tuttle, Skip
Tuttle, Jared Andreotti, Rich Fenton, Dan Mullan

Members Present: Jodi Frakes, Joe and Shari Ancona, Chuck Dubie, Phillip Dubie, Ron Silva, Mike and
Brianne Maier

March 2010 minutes approved

Old Business:
Associate member information has been updated
o Work hours required at members home club (refer to rule book update)
o Associate Membership fees ($50.00 plus $25.00 for key)

First Race Concerns:

Lots of concern about the amount of help during the race day
o Tower: Seems to be same people all day long in the Tower, we need help.
o Judging: Same issue with judges, we need people to step up.
o Flagging: More flaggers are needed throughout the race day.

Bottom line is every family needs to step up and sign up for race day help. If you sign up and can’t work
in your designated position it is YOUR responsibility to find a replacement. We should not have to call
for help. When you sign in for the race day plan on signing up for a track position. This only ensures that
we have a successful race day!

Monza:
Second leg of the Monza Series is this weekend April 17th –April 18th at American. If you didn’t
run the first leg at Good Times it is not too late to run and still be in contention for the
championship. Remember there is one throw out race. Hope to see a good turn out this weekend
to support this series.
TVQMA will be hosting the Monza 5/22/10 – 5/23/10.
There will be a raffle taking place at the Monza at TVQMA. If anyone has items to donate or
knows of anyone willing to make donations we are beginning to gather items (gift baskets, toys,
gift cards, etc.)
The Howard/Monza will run qualifying order in the OMA order as it is always run in past
Howard Memorial Races. Once qualifying is complete the remaining races of the day will run per
the Monza running order. This was voted on at the meeting with all in favor.

Good Guys:
Discussed the need for assistance building the walls for the Good Guys Race (to be held in June at
the Pleasanton Fairgrounds). These walls be used this event and we will have them as extras for
our track. A work party will be scheduled in the next few weeks to build these walls.
Concern about where we would store extra walls. We are waiting on information from Cooper
who is looking into the donation of a 40-foot trailer for storage.
Radios/Track:
Having a cable problem with headsets. Radios are working fine the headsets are not. Looking to
get this problem resolved especially before our big races coming up (i.e. Monza, Regional)

Banquet:
Still need to decide on venue. Passed info and pictures around for the Radisson. Discussed
possibly arranging to sample the food (since there was some “hear say” about the quality of what
they offer)
Shari Ancona will send out an email that she previously sent out to the club and would like
responses with suggestions. Any suggestions are welcome.
The board had decided that this year’s event was going to be on a nicer scale (more geared
towards the parents that work hard all race season)

Board Reports:
Vice President: Steve Huelsmann – Not Present
Secretary: Sophia Cronk – No Report
Treasurer: Denise Tuttle – No Report

Training Director: Skip Tuttle

Maier graduated and participated in first club race on Saturday and did a great job.
New child ready to start training in the next week (when family returns from vacation)
Training cars are still being worked on and should be done in a couple weeks.

Tower Director: Stacey Klitzing

A big thank you to everyone who helped out on Saturday.
Will be focusing on getting help in the tower

Track Director: Robbie Frakes

Needs to get contact info for Cell Company (T-Mobile)
Would like to have chain on gate replaced.
It would be ideal to have a daisy lock so there is one key for everyone. At this point Skip, Rich,
Steve and Tobi have keys to the training shed.

Safety Director: Jared Andreotti

Our first club race went very good

Tech Director: Rich Fenton

QMA still does not have blue plates. There is no set time when these are coming in.
The blue plates that are good are 6/09. The ones that are dated 3/09 are not good.
Make sure to seal up before each race. Although Rich is kind enough to try and make “house
calls” it is your responsibility to get your car teched before the race.
It is the responsibility of the handlers to find someone to look at car weight when coming off the
track. Rich can’t always be available to check your car after each race.

Publicity: Dan Mullan

A flyer for club promo days was emailed to club. Please print and hand out and post flyers in
local businesses to promote events.
A follow-up email was sent to each person that submitted their names at the Monster Truck
event. Dan will follow up one more time with these contacts before the first promo day.
Pit Steward: Chuck Dubie
Reminder to all members to wear badges during race day.
Only handlers belong in the pit area on race day. Please remind your guests that this area is off
limits.
Apologized to everyone he told couldn’t video from hot chute, this rule never passed. We are
allowed to video from the hot chute area during a race.

Fundraising: Gary Keannley

Submitted money for 3 more jacket sponsors.
Passed around a new sponsor package that will be sent out to potential track sponsors. “Big
money sponsors” NASCAR affiliated and other large businesses.

Membership: Jenni Andreotti – Not Present

Flagging: Rick Petruzzi – Not Present
Website: Rick Klitzing – Not Present
Trophy: Christina Fenton – Not Present

New Business:
Steve Huelsmann is getting dumpsters from waste management donated to track.
We need more people to show up at the work parties.
Board approved that a gift card be purchased for Shaun Simmons as a thank you for retrieving
our stolen car. $100.00 approved as gift amount. Robbie Frakes will purchase this gift and submit
receipt to treasurer.
Discussed hiring Ron Shaw to do some flagging some of the bigger races that we are hosting this
season.
Mr. Dubie would like to find people to help fill in as pit steward during Sr. Honda races so that
he can assist
A deposit has been made on the club t-shirts. More details regarding this will come at our next
