TENSION
21sts and 28 rows to 10cm / 4in square, over stocking stitch using
3.5mm and 4mm needles.
36sts to 15cm / 6in wide, in fancy pattern stitch, using 4mm
needles.
Note: Take time to check your tension to ensure the correct fit.

BORDER STITCH using 3.5 mm
needles over a multiple of 4 sts + 2:
Row 1 (rs), Rows 2-3: K .
Row 4: * p2, k2 *, rep from * to *, end
with p2.
Row 5: k over k, p over p.

SHOULDER TABS (make 2):
Using 3.5 mm needles, cast on 9 sts
and work in st st until tab measures
approximately [4 (4.5-5-5.5)cm] from
cast-on row [end of Row 12 (14-16-18)].
Next row: k1, k2tog, k3, sl 1, k1, psso,
k1 = 7 sts.
Work 1 row straight.
Next row: k1, k2tog, k1, sl 1, k1, psso,

FINISHING:
Fold the collar in half to the inside;
hemstitch the cast-off edge around the
inside neck and slipstitch to close the
ends of the collar.
Fit a shoulder cap into each armhole
and backstitch the side and sleeve
seams.
Slipstitch the cast-on edge of each tab
to the top of a sleeve, following the
seam line, and sew on a button to
fasten the other end to the shoulder.
Sew 6 buttons along the left front
border.
