Performance – Cum – Achievement Report for the Period: 1-11-2009 to 28-02-2010.

I. Unfortunately at the beginning of Oct. 09, there was a set back on the functioning of mobile
dispensary project, due to unprecedented flood situation in Kurnool dist., and in particular in
some of the “Chenchu and non-chenchu areas” of Kothapalli Mandal, which happens to be the
area of operation of Mobile Dispensary. Though it is already past (6 months), about 1000
families (victims of Krishna River flood-ravage in the mandal), are still taking shelter in make
shift arrangements.

II. In the last week of Feb. 09, a “Chenchu Service and Development Camp” was conducted at
‘Abobilam’, a famous pilgrim centre of lord “Sri Lakshmi Narasimha”, in Kurnool Dist., on Feb
27th and 28th 2010, to have a feed-back on the functioning of Mobile Dispensary Project, apart
from other welfare, spiritual and development activities.

This camp was attended by 21 chenchu (PTG) women and 47 chenchu men out of identified 100
individuals from 23 chenchu gudems, This number also includes 5 elderly boys studing in
Bhakta Kannappa Gurukulam (a residential school being run exclusively for the development of
chenchu boys in the age group of 4 to 15 yrs, under the management of Sevabharathi (WAP), at
Gokavaram Village, Kothapalli Mandal, Kurnool dist).

Though there are about 34 chenchu gudems in the district, with a total population of about 8500
(as per govt. records) about 90-95% of the chenchus have acquaintance with 3 to 4 gudems in
their vicinity only. The present camp gave them an opportunity (at least to 68 chenchu
individuals) to know about 22 other chenchu gudems in the district and to have first hand
information on their life at least.

III. Here with furnished some of the salient points from the feed-back noted (from out of 6sessions)
1. Janala CG – Uttaluri yellaiah
Though there is no road, medical treatment is promptly reaching us, because of Seva Bharathi
Mobile Dispensary.

2. Patha Madugula CG – Ileni Usenaiah

From Govt. side only TB drugs are being received but no support food items (Nutrient) is
received by the correct patient.

3. Erramattam CG - Ileni Bayanna

Infertility couples are many requiring treatment.

4. Musalimadugu CG - Ileni Masanna

From this gudem 2 boys are studying in gurukulam.

5. Peddagummadapuram - Ileni Lingamma

Gurukulam.

9. Kottala cheruvu CG - P Vijaya Lakshmi

(a) Chenchu boys are receiving good treatment in BKG which is making them to lead a
harmonious life, apart from becoming a disciplined individual. If the programme is extended
beyond 10th class, it will help a lot to the beneficiary student.
(b) Dasari Narayana – One boy K.Naga Raju who completed 10th class through BKG is presently
working in Forest Dept., AP and also completed Intermediate.

10. Pedda Cheruvu CG - A.Daragamma

11. Nagaluty CG - N. Eedamma

Treatment for TB offered is good. But addiction towards alcohol could not be contained by the
patient, leading to patient to grave.

12. Bairluty CG -J. Mallaiah

Sevabharathi Mobile Dispensary is providing good medical treatment. We our selves are
spoiling our health, as we could not come out of the bad habits. Children are reading in BKG,
Gokavaram.

13. Amalapuram CG - K.Venkateswarlu

We are getting free medical treatment at the door from mobile dispensary; one lady underwent
cataract operation from our gudem with the help of mobile dispensary. She has to go for second
eye.

14. Nellakalva CG -A.Eedamma

Many patients were cured from ill health, because of mobile van.

15. Gajulapalli RS CG - G.Veeranna

Mobile Dispensary is giving good treatment to TB patients but our people are not taking it
seriously, because they are addicts and foolish.

16. Hari Nagaram CG -S.Pradeep

Through mobile van every week free medicines are distributed to all the patients in the gudem.

17. Gajulapalli Metta - S. Laxmidevi

As chenchus we have no initiative in any thing, due to shy we loose many opportunities, as we
do not take freely with others. Mobile dispensary is offering medical treatment at our door steps,
is a boon for us.

18. Hari Nagaram CG -P. Padma

She is an Arogya Karya Kartha. She is provided with a sewing machine from BKG through
mobile dispensary under self reliance activity. She is now offering training to other ladies in the
CG.

19. ChagalammaCG - N.Veeraiah

Special attention on children’s health care need is to be considered.

A Report by Dr. M.D.V.N Rama Sarma

Tuberculosis cases

Mobile dispensary doctors screened nearly 40cases of suspected cough since 1month, weight loss, fever
etc. These cases have been referred to concerned microscope centers of Tuberculosis for sputum
examination. Expenditure of X-rays have been taken up by Seva Bharathi mobile dispensary. Among the
referred cases 18 cases were found positive and are on ATT till today. 4 patients are kept on observation.

Antenatal Care

There are 53 patients on pregnancy are under antenatal care. Early screening of pregnancy with the help
of ‘Pre Color’ (urine HSG test) is being taken up. Folic Acid supplementation later Iron and Calcium
syrups were supplied regularly for 3months. Antenatal check up includes Weight, BP, FHS, Hb%, Urine
and Sugar etc. Immunisation of TT are been taken up, probably this may be the cause as such there is no
signs or case of Delivery Death of Mother & Child reported. Credit goes to the regular Antenatal
checkups and good follow up by community health workers of concerned gudems. Anganwadi workers
are not at all supplying nutritious supplementation to the pregnant woman. Hence in the near future, it will
be better if mobile dispensary supplies nutrition mixtures for pregnant woman for a better mother and
child health care.

A Report by Dr. K.Parameswara Reddy

During this period from 10th December to 10th March, we have observed that there is mild
increase in incidences of P.T especially in the Pedda Gummadapuram chenchu colony and the region of
Errakunta and Palemcheru.

And also in some chenchu gudems like Pata madugula and Erramatam, there are incidence of
Hansen’s discerns the effected people were given counseling and P.H.C person were informed and started
M.D.T.

One Ophthalmic mega camp is necessary to screen out and select for operation of eye cases.

Sd/- Dr. K.Parameswara Reddy

A Report by Dr. B.Murilidhar

Incidence of Gastritis and COPD cases are in a remarkable number in all chenchu gudems
particularly Nagaluty, Bairulity, Amalapuram and Gajulapally RS Gudems. Alcoholism, gutka and
smoking are the predisposing factors for these ailments. Most of the women are anemic due to the
insufficient and malnourished food intake due to Gastritis. Though we are trying to improve the
hematological levels of female patients, lack of proper nourishment is becoming an obstacle. Even
TB cases are deprived of proper food.
