Engaging Speed
Engaging speed of the gearbox:
min. 400 rpm, max. 560 rpm
It must be ensured that an interlock is built into the cpp-control system which allows
engagement at zero pitch only. It is not allowed to engage the clutch if the propeller
shaft turns in the non-specified direction. This must be ensured by technical
provisions.
Gearbox engagement will principally be effected at engine idle speed. If engagement
at a higher speed is requested, we require specific instruction and the following data
which are necessary for checking the clutch:
- Mass Moment of inertia J (kgm) of propeller shaft system and propeller (in water).
- Break-away torque of the propeller shaft system
- Propeller torque at engaging speed.

Attention !
The data about the min. hub outer diameter, yield point of the hub material and the
push-up distance, which are all stated on the drawing, must be maintained.
Mounting of the finish machined flexible coupling on the input shaft. The coupling is
to be delivered to us 1 week prior to gearbox delivery latest free-of-charge quoting

No warranty can be accepted for damages that may be caused by incorrect selection
of coupling or by incorrect measurements.
The assembled coupling parts will not be checked by Reintjes.
We need to have the drawing of the coupling (including push up distance)
5 weeks before scheduled gearbox delivery latest.
This is necessary so that we can check the free space to the gearbox and
machine the tools for fitting of the coupling.

The cooling water sockets can reciprocally be used for inlet, outlet respectively.
For connection of the cooling water sockets we recommend using compensators to
avoid damages to the cooler and the piping system. Compensators are not part of
the REINTJES standard scope of supply.
Lubricant
We recommend using lubrication oil (type SAE 40 / ISO VG150) listed in our
lubrication chart BV1597/3.
REINTJES does not accept responsibility for any damages due to use of unsuitable
oils.

In the event of power failure the valve does remain in the engaged position. It is
equipped with a manual emergency control.

The alternating torque in the toothing of the loaded PTO is limited to max. 30% of the
respective nominal torque.
For the unloaded PTO gears the admissible alternating torque in the toothing is 20%
of the respective nominal torque.
If the above mentioned limiting values are exceeded it is necessary to check with
REINTJES.

We need to have the drawing of the coupling (including push up distance if
applicable) 5 weeks before scheduled gearbox delivery latest. This is
necessary to check the free space to other gearbox components.
Supervision
The gearbox is fitted with supervision equipment to fulfil the requirements of
respective classification society mentioned under classification according to
supervision plan no. 0-211-90160
All electrical connections are brought together in a junction box.

Packing
The Gearbox will be shipped on a wooden transport frame with additional timber
frame and in a collecting container. All wooden parts have been treated according to
ISPM-Standard 15.
Container packing is intended for overseas transportation and short-term storage in
dry rooms without large temperature changes, for up to 12 months (Climate B: 38 C
/ 90% rel. humidity).
Preservation of the gearbox
The gearbox will be painted according to REINTJES standard.
External unpainted parts will be coated with a waxy long-term preservation agent.
After the test run, a VCI preservation oil will be put inside and the gearbox will be
tightly sealed. The venting filter will be replaced by a plug.
In addition, the gearbox will be hermetically sealed in a steam-proofed foil and
provided with a drying agent for 12 months protection.
Preservation of the spare parts
The spare parts will be painted or coated with a waxy long-term preservation agent
as necessary. Parts supplied from other manufacturers remain supplied in their
original packing.
All spare parts are either packed together with the gearbox inside the protective
covering or packed in a separate case, shrink-wrapped in steam-proofed foil and
provided with a drying agent.
A sufficient preservation is only guaranteed, if specifications and notes in BV1945 are
observed.
We accept no warranty for damages caused by improper storage.
