Undoubtedly, Allāh Almighty has stationed an angel on my [blessed] grave who has been
granted the power to hear the voice (or sound) of every creation. Hence, whosoever,
until the Day of Judgment, recites Durūd [Blessings on the Prophet] upon me, [this
angel] presents that person‟s name and his father‟s name to me. The angel says, „A certain
son of a so-and-so person has recited Durūd [Blessings on the Prophet] upon you.‟” 1
Perform your Fardh [obligatory] Hajj pilgrimage. Undoubtedly, its reward is greater than
participating in twenty Gazwah and reciting one Durūd upon me, equals that [in
reward].2
Whoever recites two hundred Durūd upon me on the day of Friday, two hundred years
of sins will be forgiven.3
The closest person to me on the Day of Judgement will be the one who recites Durūd
upon me the most.5
The Knower of the Unknown [Dana-e Ghuyūb], the Blessing for the Universe has said,
When the day of Thursday approaches, Allāh Almighty sends his angels, who have
scribes made of Silver and pens made of gold. They write the names of those who recite
Durūd in abundance on the day of Thursday and during Friday night [which begins after
sunset on Thursday].6
Recite Durūd upon me in abundance, undoubtedly this is cleansing [Taharah] for you.7
Whoever recited the Holy Qur‟ān, glorified Allāh Almighty recited Durūd on the
Prophet for forgiveness; found goodness from its source. 8
The Most Truthful [al-Asdaq], the Most Bounteous [al-Ajwad], the Beloved Prophet has stated,

Indeed Jibra‟īl gave me glad tidings that whoever recites Durūd upon you, Allāh
Almighty sends blessings upon him and whoever sends Salām [salutations] upon you,
Allāh Almighty sends peace upon him.9
Whoever recites Durūd upon me once, Allāh Almighty sends ten blessings upon him.10
Whoever recites ten Durūd upon me, Allah Almighty sends one hundred blessings upon
him.11
The one who loves another for the sake of Allāh Almighty, upon meeting his brother,
they embrace and recite Durūd upon the Prophet, before departing their past sins shall
be forgiven.12
The Guide for Allāh Almighty‟s creation, the Intercessor on the Day of Judgement, the Noble
Prophet has stated,
Angels will continue to seek forgiveness [istighfār] for, whoever writes Durūd on me in a
book; until my name remains in it.13
The closest to me on the Day of Judgement will be the one who recited the most Durūd
upon me in the duniyah.14
The blessed Companion Ubay bin Ka'ab said that, [aside from my Fardh obligations, etc.] I will
devote all my time in reciting Durūd. Upon this, the Master of Madīnah al-Munawwarah said
to him,
This will be sufficient to drive away your worries and shall be redemption for your sins. 15
O‟ People! Indeed, the person to receive quick relief from the anxieties and
accountability on the Day of Judgment will be the one who would have recited Durūd
upon me in this world, in abundance.16
The Authority and Master of Both Worlds, Guide for Allāh Almighty‟s Creation, Merciful
Prophet has said that,
Whoever desires that Allāh Almighty is pleased with him when he is presented in His
Court, should recite Durūd upon me in abundance.18
Anyone who recites Durūd upon me three times in the day and three times in the night
due to love and affection for me, Allāh Almighty will forgive his sins of that day and
night.19
On the shining night [Thursday night] and the bright day [Friday], recite Durūd upon me
in abundance because your recitation is presented to me.20
The Knower of the Unseen, Beloved of Allāh [Habīb’Allāh], the Holy Prophet said,
Whoever recites one thousand Durūd upon me [daily], will not pass away until he sees
his home in Paradise.21
Whoever recited ten Durūd upon me in the day and ten in the night will receive my
intercession [shafā’at] on the Day of Judgement.23
Recite Durūd upon me in abundance on Friday night [which begins after sunset on
Thursday] and the day of Friday because whoever does this, I will be his witness and
intercessor on the Day of Judgement.24

Whoever recites a hundred Durūd upon me, Allāh Almighty inscribes between his eyes
that 'This person is free from hypocrisy and the Hell-fire‟, and he will be raised with the
martyrs on the Day of Judgement.25
Jibra‟īl alayhis salam said to me that Allāh Almighty says, “Oh Muhammad ! Are you not
happy [with the fact] that when one of your followers sends one Salām upon you, I send
Salām [mercy] upon him a hundred times.”26
Indeed your names are presented to me, along with your identity; therefore recite Durūd
upon me with beautiful words.27
Whoever recites one Durūd upon me; Allāh Almighty sends ten blessings upon him,
forgives ten of his sins and increases his status by ten ranks. 28
The Merciful Prophet, Intercessor for the Sinners şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam said,
Last night I witnessed a strange scene, I saw an individual from my nation crossing the
bridge [of sirāt] by dragging himself and crawling on his knees. Suddenly the Durūd he
sent on me arrived [to his aid]; he stood up straight on the bridge to the extent that he
walked across the bridge.29
Sayyidunā Abu Darda rađiyAllāhu ánhu narrates that the Master of Intercession şallAllāhu álayhi wa
sallam said,
On the Day of Judgement, I will intercede for the one who recites Durūd on me ten
times in the morning and ten times in the evening.30
Recite Durūd upon me in your gatherings as your reciting the Durūd will be Nūr [light]
for you on the Day of Judgement.31
The Holder of the Exalted Station [Sâhib al-Maqâm] şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam has said:
Decorate your gatherings by reciting Durūd upon me, because this Durūd will be a Nūr
for you on the Day of Judgement.32
The Master of Humanity and Jinn [Sayyid al-Kawnayn] şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam said,
The Mercy for the Universe [Rahmat-ul-lil-‘Alamīn], the Noble and Highly Glorified Prophet
said,
Whoever recites a hundred Durūd upon me on Friday night [which begins after sunset
on Thursday] and on the Day of Friday, Allāh Almighty will alleviate a hundred of his
needs of which seventy shall be of the afterlife and thirty shall be of this world.35
The Beloved of the Merciful [Habīb al-Rahman] şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam stated,
Whoever recites one hundred Durūd upon me, during a day, Allāh Almighty will alleviate
one hundred of his needs of which thirty shall be in this world and seventy will be in the
hereafter.36
Whoever recites Durūd upon me once; Allāh Almighty sends upon him ten mercies and
writes ten good deeds in his book of deeds.37
The Key to Paradise [Miftâh al-Janna] şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam has affirmed,
When you recite Durūd upon the Prophets álayhis salam also recite Durūd upon me,
indeed I am the Prophet [Rasūl] of your Rabb (Creator) Almighty for all the universes. 38
The Rider of the Buraq [Râkib al-Buraq], the Beloved Prophet şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam has
stated,
Whoever recites one Durūd upon me Allāh Almighty writes the reward of one Qirat for
him and one Qirat is the size of Mount Uhud.39
When a Muslim recites Durūd upon me the Angels continuously pray for him. Now,
[after knowing this] it is the person's desire whether he recites less or more.40
Read Durūd upon me in abundance, undoubtedly this will be forgiveness for your sins.41
The One Chosen and Purified [al-Mustafa] şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam stated,

Whoever recites Durūd upon me on the day of Friday, I will intercede for him on the
Day of Judgement.42
The Master of Creation, the Beloved Prophet şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam said,
O people! Beyond doubt, the one sending Durūd upon me in abundance in this world
will soon get rid of the fear and troubles of accountability and those of the Day of
Judgement.43
The Supreme Prophet of Allāh Almighty şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam said to the one praising Allāh
Almighty and reciting Durūd after offering salāh,
Recite Durūd upon me, Allāh Almighty will send blessings upon you. 45
On one occasion when the Beloved Prophet şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam appeared, Abū
Talha rađiyAllāhu ánhu stepped forward and said: Ya RasûlAllâh şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam
may my parents be sacrificed for you. Signs of happiness are apparent on your blessed
face today. He şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam said: Certainly! Recently Jibra‟īl alayhis salam came
to me and said: „Oh Muhammad şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam! Whosoever recites one Durūd
upon you, Allāh Almighty will write ten good deeds for him, forgive ten of his sins and
raise his status ten times‟.46
Reciting Durūd upon the Beloved Prophet şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam removes mistakes
better than cold water [puts out fire], and sending Salām upon the Prophet şallAllāhu
álayhi wa sallam is better than setting slaves free.47
The Second Khalīfa, Leader of the Believers, Sayyidunā Umar rađiyAllāhu ánhu said,
Supplications are suspended between the heavens and the earth until you recite Durūd
upon the Beloved Prophet şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam.49

The Fourth Khalīfa, Leader of the Believers, Sayyidunā Alī rađiyAllāhu ánhu said,
Supplication is veiled until the one making supplication recites Durūd upon the Noble
Prophet Muhammad şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam.50
Whoever recites one Durūd upon the Beloved Prophet şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam Alláh
Almighty and His angels send seventy blessings upon him.51
I created 10,000 ears in you by which you heard my speech and 10,000 tongues by which
you spoke to me. You will become beloved to me when you send Durūd upon
Muhammad şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam.52
A resident of Shiraz dreamt of Sayyidunā Abul Abbas Ahmad Bin Mansūr rađiyAllāhu
ánhu standing in the mihrab of the main mosque of Shiraz wearing a crown of pearls on
his head, dressed in a heavenly garment. The man seeing the dream asked, „What did
Allāh Almighty do to you?‟ He replied, “Alhamdulillah I used to recite Durūd in
abundance and it is this that saved me. Allāh Almighty forgave me and made me enter
Heaven wearing a crown of pearls.”53
I had an Islamic brother whom I saw in a dream after his death, I asked him how Allah
Almighty treated him, he replied, „Allāh Almighty forgave me‟. I asked the reason for his
forgiveness, he replied, „I would always write Durūd along with the name of the Beloved
Rasūl şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam while writing Hadīth hoping to be rewarded. Allāh
Almighty has forgiven me due to the blessing of this deed.‟54
Once Sayyidunā Abu Bakr Shiblī rađiyAllāhu ánhu went to visit Sayyidunā Abu Bakr Mujāhid
rađiyAllāhu ánhu, a prominent scholar of Baghdad. When Sayyidunā Abu Bakr Mujāhid
rađiyAllāhu ánhu saw him, he stood instantly, embraced him, kissed him on the forehead and
then very respectfully seated him by his side. Those present politely asked Sayyidunā Abu Bakr
Mujāhid rađiyAllāhu ánhu, “Until now, yourself, and the people of Baghdad had declared this
man a madman, and yet today you show him this respect.” Sayyidunā Abu Bakr Mujāhid
rađiyAllāhu ánhu replied, “I haven‟t done this without a reason. Alhamdulillah last night in my
dream, I saw a faith enlightening scene. I saw that Sayyidunā Abu Bakr Shiblī rađiyAllāhu ánhu
