Dear Colleagues,
It is a great pleasure to invite you to take part at the 2nd Annual
Power and Water Maintenance conference. Managing ageing
assets is one of the most critical issues facing utilities struggling
with competing priorities, constrained resources, a challenging
regulatory environment and the difficulty of determining which
projects, maintenance or asset replacement tasks are really
worthwhile. Good asset management decision making requires a
clear understanding of the objectives, a consistent and disciplined
process, ability to identify relevant facts and correctly evaluating
options and alternatives for their benefits, cost, risks and asset life
cycle impact.
Utility companies typically make substantial annual investments
on maintaining, repairing or replacing their assets. The majority
of these functions were implemented at frequently scheduled
intervals and run to failure. However, due to increasing regulation
of the utility sector in the region and the need to optimise and
improve costs, local electricity and water companies aim to
comply with global asset management standards to optimise
business results and benchmark against international companies.
By optimising asset management strategies, the performance and
return for all stakeholders can be maximised. Part of achieving
this, is to create a coordinated replacement, maintenance
and repair strategy. Improving the reliability of assets is a key
consideration for operational and technical management. To
ensure resources are allocated correctly, it is critical to maintain
data and records.
This conference will deliver new ideas, convictions, strategies,
and tactics that directly affect how you do business. No other
event in Middle East will offer a more impressive roster of
keynote speakers, quality attendees, and compelling content.
The conference will provide a forum for exchange of ideas and
authoritative views by well-known utilities provider from across the
Middle East as well as international utilities in this exciting field.
I look forward to welcoming you to the Power and Water
Maintenance conference from 6 - 9 December in Abu Dhabi,
UAE.
Yours sincerely,
Regards,

Alina Rizvi

competitors or project partners

PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP DAY: SUNDAY, 6 DECEMBER 2015

9:00 -14:00
Power and water utilities: A roadmap for maximising work and asset value for utilities
Determining whether to replace or repair an asset requires
an understanding of its condition and its importance to the
organisation. This understanding is best gained by aggregating
all asset data; including work history and condition into a single
system; balancing the importance of one factor versus another;
and updating any condition changes as they occur. Armed with
this data in real-time, the utility has a more reliable view of asset
health and can make more meaningful investments and work
decisions on how to best balance compliance, reliability, safety
and risk.
Many utilities face the grim reality of having to do more work
with the same or fewer resources and tighter budgets. Often, the
outcome is that both the quality and quantity of work is reduced
due to a traditional orientation toward tasks. The solution to
this challenge maybe to increase the amount of proactive
work done, thereby eliminating future tasks and preventing
small maintenance problems from growing into larger, costlier
ones. But how do you move from reactive to proactive work?
This interactive workshop will cover this issue and many other
maintenance planning areas:
Areas to be covered:
All asset types including fixed, fleet, distribution, linear,
and more
Integrated processes across asset, work, and supply chain
management

Detailed life cycle information, tracking, and control

Preventive and predictive work using multiple maintenance
approaches
Planning and scheduling work orders with appropriate
material and labour resources
Benefits of attending:
Understand how to yield better performance and reliability of
your asset portfolio at reduced cost
Learn how to enhance your organisations ability to plan for
preventive maintenance
Optimising maintenance work and the correction of failures
How to analyse data to decide whether to repair, upgrade,
or replace assets
Who should attend?
Asset Life Cycle Managers
Emergency Repair Section Heads
Electricity Operation and Maintenance Managers
Reliability and Maintenance Heads
Production Manager
HSE Managers
Assets Integrity Managers
Lunch and refreshment breaks are included.

Workshop leaders:
Tim Young, Director, QASR

Richard Chilton, Director, QASR

Tim Young has over twenty-five years

experience as a leading, international,
expert in the field of asset management.
He previously worked for over twelve years

2 Premium Branding

We bring together buyers and suppliers for collaboration, networking and knowledge
sharing. Branding is often a major initiative for our clients who are seeking to get the
message out about their offerings. Build your companys brand and visibility in front of
senior decision-makers in order to get shortlisted. As a sponsor, your company branding
will appear alongside the global leaders associated with best practices in this field. Our
dedicated marketing team will help you achieve your promotional aims in the months
leading up to the conference. IQPC leverages multiple marketing channels including
online, direct mail, email, press releases, media partnerships and social media to publicise
the event and increase awareness about your participation to our extensive database, as
well as through our network of partners.

3 Featured Networking Events

Networking and information sharing are two major aspects of our conferences and IQPC
builds in many opportunities for sponsors to benefit from meeting industry leaders.
Focused and high-level, our events will provide you with the perfect environment to initiate
new business relationships, identify upcoming opportunities and achieve face-to-face
contact that overcrowded tradeshows can not deliver. The exhibition area is designed
to be the heart of the event a place to network and share strategies with key decision
makers. Sponsorship opportunities range from exhibition stands to sponsored lunches,
cocktail receptions, gala dinners and a host of other branding opportunities.

Additionally IQPC offers a selection of sponsorship opportunities that enables our clients to increase their
opportunity to develop new relationships during our events, including one-to-one meetings with clients to
understand their challenges, requirements and opportunities.
