Invention chosen: the Internet
riesgos.

Internet is a decentralized set of interconnected communications networks worldwide. Its

origins date back to 1969, when the first connection of computers, known as ARPANET,
between three universities in California (USA) was established.

One of the most successful services on the Internet has been the World Wide Web (WWW
or Web). There are many other Internet protocols and services, other than the Web:
sending e-mail, online chats, instant messaging, telephony and television, remote access
to other devices or online games.
With the Internet you can access almost anywhere, and its services, like email, may be
available to the entire world public. On the Internet you can find educational material at all
levels. The low cost and nearly instantaneous sharing of ideas, knowledge and skills,
facilitate work and education. The Internet allows computer users to remotely access other
computers, download music, movies and files and access to news and weather.
Like any technological advancement, internet also has disadvantages. Among them, we
can cite the difficulty of controlling their content globally, which can be offensive or
dangerous for the population (such as false information, websites that promote selfdestructive or violent behavior, etc.), increasing the possibility of electronic fraud,
espionage, etc. Internet can also facilitate the violation of copyright and be responsible to
stop people prefer paper reading materials. In extreme cases, some people can become
addicted to the Internet and lose touch with reality.
Beyond its advantages and disadvantages, we must recognize that the Internet has had a
profound impact on the world of work, leisure and knowledge worldwide. It has also
managed to break the physical barriers between remote regions. But the internet user
must take a critical look and make responsible use of this tool, as the Web also carries
risks.
