Who Me?
Exodus 3:10-4:17
When it comes to being used by God, very few qualify. At least thats what many of us think.
But in actuality, Gods service is filled with men and women who struggle in all kinds of ways.
Moses was no different. This week, we look at a pivotal moment in Moses life when God called
him to something extraordinary. And the response, well, can be summarized by that same word
struggle. If we look carefully, we can find principles that apply to our lives today, because
Gods heart to use His people for His purposes hasnt changed.

If God only used perfect people, nothing would get done. God will use anybody if you're

Working It Out
1. What do you think Moses had been saying to himself for 40 years in the wilderness of
Midian? Can you relate?
2. Why are being changed by Christ and being used by Christ so connected to one
another?
3. Have you ever considered that the well-being of others may hinge on a single choice
you make?
4. Of the three potential applications (pay attention to your burden, ask the right
questions, do something), what resonated most with you? Why?

Recovery
Exodus 4:27-7:6
Moses has had a challenging life. It has been a hard, painful journey, and it is far from over.
Moses has trigger points from the past that are affecting him in the present, probably
unconsciously. He is in recovery as we say. As are all of us, if we are honest.
Working It Out
1. Read through 4:27-7:6, noting the ups and downs, reactions and actions of the various
players in the story.
2. What kind of experience does Moses have in 4:27-31?
3. How about in 5:20-21? (Compare his experience in 2:11-15)
In what ways is this a challenging moment for Moses in light of his past?

4. In a nutshell, what does God tell Moses in 6:1-8?

What good does this do for Moses according to vs. 9- 12?

5. What do you think Moses is struggling with in this section and why? (see 6:30)
6. Is 7:6-7 some kind of indication of progress for Moses?
