Senior Unified Communications Engineer (Manila,

Philippines)

SCOPE:

The Senior Unified Communication Engineer will be primarily responsible for the
designing, building and administration of Louis Berger Microsoft Lync
Infrastructure. This includes information architecture planning, maintenance,
documentation, and working with end users as a third level escalation resource.
The candidate will participate in MS Lync service -related activities which include
but are not limited to: Build, upgrade and administration of MS Lync
Servers/Systems and other software applications/appliances that are used to
support MS Lync infrastructure, escalation resolution, system monitoring, and
training of support teams.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Duties to include, (but not limited to):

Architect/design Microsoft Lync Services based solutions and server


administration throughout the company.

Maintaining MS Lync service level agreements and operational support


levels
Planning, budgeting and execution of service/server upgrades

Managing and supporting Microsoft Lync Audio and Video Conferencing


solutions

Deployment and management of Enterprise Voice solution with


conjunction with MS Lync

Perform day to day operation of Lync environments which includes


change, release, performance and availability management for the Lync
Server 2010 and 2013 environments

Monitor availability and correct functioning of Lync, as well as, utilization


and planning for server systems capacity upgrades

Follow up in diagnosing and resolving any system problems

Provide operational support and troubleshooting of system


infrastructures
Planning, coordinating and performing maintenance activities, upgrades,
patches and disaster recovery tests with customers in the field

Work with other technical teams including network, MS Exchange and


telephony engineers and vendors, as necessary, to support customer
activities

Engage in advanced technical troubleshooting in the areas of IM,


Presence, Conferencing, Mobility, Persistent Chat, Address Book, Auto
Client, Federation and Certificates

Leads or assists in the creation of documented standard processes and


procedures including developing and maintaining all build guides,
technical diagrams and test plans

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 5-8 years


experience.

3-5 years' hands on experience with design, deployment, troubleshooting


and support of Microsoft Lync 20XX

Must Speak Fluent English and be able to work with others in a team
environment.

EXPERIENCES:

2 year experience deploying and supporting


Enterprise voice and Audio/Video conferencing.

Office 365 Integration experience with internal cloud is a huge plus


including ADFS, Directory Sync and Lync Online.

Working knowledge of the integration of LYNC Server, Office


Communications Server (OCS), and Exchange Unified Messaging (UM) into
existing PBX/Gateway integration.

Proven track record of troubleshooting complex issues and hands-on


experience with Lync 2010/2013 with IM, Presence, Conferencing, Desktop
Sharing, Mobility and Enterprise Voice features deployed in production.
Also, an understanding of Lync infrastructure, load balancing, pool
failover/failback and reverse proxy.

Integration experience with Lync Enterprise Voice and Exchange Unified


Messaging.

Understanding of Enterprise Voice and PBX integration. Ability to analyze


and interpret data captures and trace logs to resolve customer issues in
production environments specific to VoIP and Unified Communications is a
plus.

Knowledge of Network and VoIP experience with Routing & Switching


Protocols, TCP/IP, QoS, SIP, VLANs, and WAN protocols and technologies is
preferred.

Understanding of various Codecs (G.711, G.723, G.729 etc.) and VoIP


technology in general.

Knowledge of VoIP Soft switches, Media gateways,


controllers Session border controllers.

PowerShell Scripting experience.

Experience with Active Directory, Exchange Server 2010/2013, F5 and SSL


certificates are a plus.
