Swing
This swing is made of iron and wood.
The support beam is made of galvanized painted iron. Zinc-coating process eliminates any threat of
rust and abrasion, reinforcingthe material and making it durable and resistant. Joints are fixed to
the beam supporting the seat.
The rest of the structure is made of Scandinavian pine, one among the best types of wood used in
outdoors construction. Northern pine, in fact, unlike those growing at lower latitudes,
is durable, easy to work with and with a natural ability to withstandweather and elements. Plus,
this wood has been treated with high pressure impregnation in autoclave according to the
regulations established by Deutsches Institut fr Normung (DIN) and congruent with RAL standards
of quality. This treatment delays the natural aging and deterioration of wood, protecting it.
The structure is simple. It consists of four lamellar pillars and one upper beam. Laminated, unlike
solid wood, will not crack or bend. The pillars have been milled twice to avoid any risk of chipping.
The square beam is treated with non-toxic immersion in acrylic. Also, all wood components have
been treated with immersion with special UV protective acrylic.
Two colored clover-shaped boards, made of high density polyethylene, are stuck to the upper part
of the structure.
The swing is equipped with two hard rubber flat seats type C/13. They are held by hot dip
galvanized steel chains. The zinc-coating process prevents rust formation and abrasions. The chain,
therefore, will be durable and won't require specific maintenance. Plus, the steel will be
fully smoothed, deleting any possibility of scratches.
The chain is then attached to the beam via self-lubricating stainless steel joints in stainless steel,
held by nylon ball bearings.
