Starter:
1. The teacher asks them to define the word intercultural first.
5 Mins

Main Part:
1. The teacher gets everybody to give some opinions on the level of respect for each
others culture.
2. Then, they are asked to give some ideas on why we should promote intercultural
understanding in Malaysia.
40 Mins
3. The teacher asks them about the level of unity in all states in Malaysia.
4. The teacher gets them to give responses on how it can be improved.
5. Everybody is given a chance to voice out their opinions especially on extremism,
racism, hypocrisy and prejudice.
6. The teacher asks them about some solutions on how to improve intercultural
understanding in Malaysia.
Students feedback: The students are asked about things that they have learned from the
discussion. They have to jot down important points as they will need them for the group
presentation.

Additional activity (if time) They are asked to choose their partners for the group presentation.

Differentiation:
1. Students who are very good are asked to give some ideas on how to promote
intercultural understanding.
2. Students who are quite weak are helped either by me or other good students to assist
them with the construction of sentences during the discussion.
