INTRODUCTION
Connection Keeper is an invaluable time-saving tool for dial-up users. This fre
e program simulates Internet browsing (at a random interval) to prevent the conn
ection from appearing idle, thus preventing your ISP from dropping the connectio
n due to inactivity. Connection Keeper can also automatically close many types
of popup windows, such as those asking if you wish to stay connected. And if th
e connection is lost, Connection Keeper can automatically dial back in, restorin
g the connection as fast as possible. It can also monitor websites, DNS records

REQUIREMENTS
Connection Keeper's only requirement is that the operating system must be Window
s 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, 7, 8, and 2012. It uses very lit
tle system resources. Installation will use approximately 14 MB of hard disk sp
ace. There are no other special hardware or software requirements.
INSTALLATION
The installer is a self-contained executable. It can be downloaded from http://
www.gammadyne.com/download.htm . Open the download to start the installation pr
ocess.
The installer will not modify or install any system files, including DLL's. It
will not create any tray icons, nor any programs that launch at startup, nor any
third-party products, nor any form of adware or malware. It will not change an
y system settings. The installer only copies a small set of files onto your har
d drive, along with a desktop and start menu shortcut.
LAUNCHING
The installation process will create two shortcuts, one on the desktop and one i
n the start menu under Programs, Gammadyne. You can also execute the file "CONK
EEPM.EXE" directly. It is located in the directory where Connection Keeper is i
nstalled.
GETTING HELP
Hover the mouse over any control, and balloon help will appear that provides a b
rief explanation of the control's purpose. For a more detailed explanation, rig
ht click on the control and choose "Help" (or press F1). This will open the Hel
p file to the spot that describes the control.
To open the Help file's table of contents, choose "Help" from the "Help" menu.

Connection Keeper is fully functional freeware. If you like it, please go to th

le in $5 increments).
UPGRADES
It is perfectly safe to install a newer version over an old version. There are
two simple methods for obtaining and installing the newest version of Connection

Keeper.
Method #1: Automatic
Select "Check For Update" from the Help menu.
If a new version is detected, click the "Download" button. The
e new version will be downloaded to the "Updates" subdirectory of
where Connection Keeper is installed.
Close the help file.
Once the download is complete, you will be asked if you wish to

Method #2: Manual

The downloaded file is a self-contained executable. Save the download to your h
ard drive.
Terminate all instances of Connection Keeper and its help file. If you do not,
the installer will report that it must reboot the computer to finish the install
ation.
Open the downloaded file, and follow the installer's instructions.
Once the installer finishes, you will have the new version. Start Connection Ke
eper as you would normally.

Because Connection Keeper is freeware, it is freely distributable
