ORDER:
As per the Minutes of the Meeting held before the Honble Chief
Minister on 18-12-2007 in the reference first read above, the Commissioner of
Family Welfare & Ex-Officio Secretary has submitted proposal for expansion of
108 Ambulance Service from the existing 652 Ambulances to 802 Ambulances
(additional 150 ambulances) during the financial year 2008-09.

The Government, after careful examination of the proposal hereby
authorize the Commissioner of Family Welfare, AP, Hyderabad for induction of
additional 150 Ambulances under 108-Ambulance Services Scheme which is
being implemented under Public Private Partnership Project in association with
Emergency Management & Research Institute (EMRI), Secunderabad, in
accordance with the MoU dt.5-5-2008 during the year 2008-09 in addition to 652
existing Ambulances.

Deployment of new Ambulances will be guided by the following
Principles :(i)

to ensure that 108 ambulance reaches the emergency case within 20


minutes of the phone call registration at 108 ;

(ii)

to cater to the medical needs of people living in interior rural and tribal
areas ;

(iii)

to attend to emergency cases remaining unattended on account of nonavailability of 108 ambulances, due to busy engagement elsewhere.

The above ordered 150 Ambulances shall be procured in terms of
the orders issued for the purpose vide G.O.Rt.No.606, HM&FW (D1) Dept., dt.95-2008.

The operational cost of each ambulance shall be met as per the MoU
dt.5-5-2008.
6.
The estimated expenditure for an amount of Rs.21.75 crores shall be
met from the NRHM funds and State Plan 2008-09.

The Commissioner of Family Welfare, AP, Hyderabad shall take
necessary further action in the matter accordingly.
8.
This order issues with the concurrence of Finance (Expr.M&H.II)
Dept., vide their U.O.No.031134-A/192/A1/Expr.M&H.II)/2008, dt.29-10-2008.
