Kera Dehisara Gadhsisa Naredi Mothala Road starts from Bhuj Bhuj
Mundra Road bet. km 20/00 to 21/00 and ends at Deshalpar Nalia Road bet. 57/00
to 58/00. The road is an important SH . The length of road is (from km 0/00 to
53/00) 53.00 kms. The existing road is slngle lane B.T. surface heaving 3.75 mtr.
Width carriage way. This road connects Mundra Mandvi & Abadasa Taluka by
shortest route.
2: Necessity
The traffic of Matel Kaptchi Betonies mine, Gangaji Pilgrim place
and about 26 villages along the road ply on this road. Due to this, the road is an
important link for developing infrastructure facilities to the industries to be
established on around the area.
The Central Govt. has declared special economical zone for port around
Mundra city due to SEZ & free excises duty in earthquake many industries has
established around Mandvi & Mundra Taluka. Due to this, traffic intensity on this
road increased and increases day by day. It may chance to accident. Hence it is
indeed to widen to two lane existing 3.75 mtr. carriage for permanent restoration.
This road has been sanctioned under std. two lane programmed in budget lump
Item. Principally sanction given this work by Govt. of Gujarat, R & B Department
vide letter No SHR/14/2015/D, Dt 17/10/2015.
Carriage way is proposed under std. two lane programmed bet. km 116/00 to
29/00.
The investment priorities are governed by traffic demand, assessed
benefits and cost of the project. Demand plays the important role, which governs
which type of facility / infrastructure to be created. This in turn determines likely
benefits and costs to develop the same. A highway project of this nature calls for
significant investment. Prediction of accurate estimation of traffic has direct bearing
on design of the facility and the viability of project. Recognizing this, efforts are
made to carefully assess all the parameters that help in predicting the traffic
demand in future.
3 : Terrain
The terrain along road alignment is generally plain and passes through agricultural
area. The terrain along the alignment is generally plain. At some places rolling
gradient is achieved which is an average 2.0mt.

Proposed work
The Design for Two - Lane flexible pavement for these road is designed for
20 years life, considering the design CBR of 6.00 as per IRC: 37-2001. The VDF
for design of crust is taken as 4.50 and traffic growth rate is 5.0% as per GEO
TEST HOUSE Vadodara Gujarat vide latter No FVPL/H/08/897 5/10/20153. As per
the final design, total crust thickness for proposed work is worked out as 805mm
with considering the above features.
