Our fifth Parish Monthly Outreach (PMO) Project of

Mercy took place on Saturday, April 2nd. Oh, what a
beautiful experience and most blessed gift Our Lord
gave to all of us! Both, physically and spiritually. 59
volunteers; which included SJN parishioners, friends of
parishioners, as well as our very own Pastor, Rev.
Octavio Muguerza participated in Aprils Project of
Mercy. Our group of volunteers served 65 children
residing at St. Peter St. Joseph Childrens Home, or
St. PJs as it is affectionately referred to. The mission
of St. PJs is to serve the needs of children and families
by providing a safe, nurturing community to heal body,
mind and spirit, shape successful adults, and break the
cycle of abuse and neglect. As such, our group opened
up their hearts, their souls, and allowed the Holy Spirit
to lead them in showing Gods loving, most
compassionate, and most merciful heart to 28 girls and
37 boys, who immigrated to the U.S., mostly from
Central America.
With the generous money contributions from our SJN
parishioners, our K of C donating and providing the
hamburger patties and hot dogs, and the numerous
volunteers who brought with them board games, arts &
crafts, and other creative activities, we were able to
make this a very special and most memorable day for all
the children. Thanks be to God, the children were given
an opportunity to put aside their burdens (if only for a
morning) and enjoy themselves while playing games,
creating arts & crafts; to include, personally decorating
their own cupcake. Afterwards, we served the children a
delicious B.B.Q. lunch. And for the grand finalelet
them create, build and joyfully eat their own ice cream
sundae!
At the end of the day, it was evident in the childrens
faces how much fun and enjoyment they had
experienced, as well as just how thankful they were to
our group. It was also quite telling how much each
volunteer had been personally touched by this wonderful
opportunity to serve Gods children.

Now that the weather is warming

up we find ourselves doing Spring
Cleaning; gathering those
unwanted items in and around our
home and hauling them off to start
a new season. Let's make some
time this Spring to not only clean our homes, but to
learn Coping Skills that will prepare us 4 Life's
challenges. St. John Neumann will be providing
educational support groups that will focus on
strategies to manage Anger, Increase Effective
Communication, Assist with Decision Making,
Coping with Difficult Individuals, and Challenging
Yourself to Live a more Spiritually Focused Life.
Spring into building your Emotional and Spiritual
Self this season, so you can foster a healthier living
for yourself and those you Love. Come join us on
April 23rd and May 7th to gain some strategies to
make a better YOU. So bring yourself, friends,
family, neighbors with you. They are welcome as
long they are 18 years of age or older. For further

Our 40 Cans for Lent Drive was a great success.

We collected 1,300 cans for our pantry to help our
brothers and sister in need. Over the years you have
always been there to help us through all of our
challenge. We want you to know how grateful we are
for your continued generosity helping those in need.
On behalf of our St. Vincent De Paul Conference we
want to thank all our parish family for your
contributions. Luke 17:5-10, 11, 19 God has appointed us
to serve the poor with gentleness, compassion and love. May
God give us the grace to be grateful for everything He has
given us and show that gratitude by generosity to others and
specially those who are poor.
