Support Theatre Studies

We need your help!

As costs rise, it is increasingly challenging to fully fund a
season of theatre. If you are able, please consider making a
donation to Guilford College and designating it for Theatre
Studies. Your gift, large or small, will enhance and strengthen
student learning. www.guilford.edu/makeagift

Auditions for the final Theatre Studies Production of the season,
Spring Awakening, by Frank Wedekind, newly translated by novelist
Jonathan Franzen, will take place Wednesday and Thursday
evenings, February 6 and 7, in Founders B-90, with callbacks Friday
evening, February 8.
Spring Awakening is a classic tragi-comedy of the German theatre
and was the first play to explore the identity struggles of
adolescence. Written in 1893, it was banned from the stage by
censors until 1906, when it was presented in a highly edited version.
Franzen's new translation utilitzes the complete text.

There will be one ten minute intermission.

Sign up for an appointment and find more information on the
callboard inside the entrance to the Theatre Studies Department
downstairs. Interested actors should perform or read a monologue of
their own choosing or read one of the selections posted on the
callboard.
