The Weirflex 70 Valve is designed to specifically meet the needs of stormwater and
combined sewer systems. The valve features a full-port opening for unobstructed flow
when in the open position. To control the rate at which stormwater enters a collection
system, the valve is closed from the bottom, creating an adjustable weir, that can
be closed up to 96% of the total pipeline diameter.
Application
The Weirflex valve allows operators to adjust for seasonal rainfall changes, wet-weather
conditions, storm events or changing population demands. The Weirflex reduces storm-
water surges and prevents flooding of treatment plants and exceeding their maximum
capacity. Used as a flow regulator, the valve maximizes storage capacity within existing
collection systems piping.
Sleeve
The heart of the valve is a tough, elastomer sleeve, the only wetted part, that provides Materials of Construction
an unobstructed opening with no seats or crevices where debris can buildup causing Body: fabricated carbon steel,
the valve to bind. The operating mechanism is completely isolated from the stormwater, Sleeves: Pure Gum Rubber, Neoprene,
remainig unaffected by trash bags, twigs and other debris. Hypalon, Chlorobutyl, Buna-N, EPDM
and Viton.
Operation
Operation of the valve is simple: turning the handwheel raises the bottom pinch bar DN FTF [mm] width [mm]
beneath the sleeve. This pinching action against the sleeve creates a weir that can
easily be adjusted to suit the flow rate desired. The open-frame design of the Weirflex 300 915 890
